The Curlywhirly looks like a Charleston Chew to me.

I like the Cadbury Egg and when it comes to chocolate I prefer dark chocolate. Then again I'm not super into sweet, I like them on occasion,

Nope, we don't have Flake here.

LonghillAndy

Back when an ice cream used to cost only 99p with a flake in it lol

LonghillAndy

Wait! Do Americans not put a flake in their ice cream scoop in a cone when they get one at the park or wherever? Flake and sprinkles are staples of an English ice cream in the park, children will literally have a meltdown there and then if they don’t get a flake in it!

Kevin Tipcorn

I got confused by fudge going the other way when I lived in the US too. Fudge in the UK is usually plain/vanilla flavoured and that beige/brown colour. US default fudge is very rare in the UK.

How are you all doing on the Parma Violets? Or has Kat hoarded them away for her dragon stash? 😁

Chris Padwick

oops - mis-typed there, sorry. Plonk the Flake in the ice cream. They're called '99s'. No idea why.

Chris Padwick

The secret to Flakes is to put it in the fridge for a bit, get a soft vanilla ice cream in a cone and then plonk the chilled flake

Thanks for the bonus video.

Flake came first. Twirl was basically the answer to "You get bits of it everywhere! Bwahhh!"

On the rare occasions when I do buy chocolate nowadays it's invariably a Cherry Ripe. Cadbury's main Australian factory is in Tasmania, but the really good chocolate is made by Anvers (also Tasmania).
