It's fun that wood is Toph's weakness now that she can bend metal. The traditional Chinese elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Metal and Wood, so imagine if the show had gone that route - who knows what Aang would've been?

Here again is another episode that shows one of my favorite relationships on the show: Katara and Sokka. The way Sokka mediates the conflict by helping Toph understand Katara meant that he was relying on Katara's emotional maturity to accept Toph's apology. He has such love for her and faith in her, and the way the support each other over everyone else (Jet, Aang, the Painted Lady) is simply lovely.

Katara is pretty much the embodiment of everything Toph initially ran away from, and sees her as an ultimate threat to her individuality. This is why they clash so often. Toph needs to learn to depend on the love and support of the people around her, and I think she had a lot of growth this episode. Nice reaction!
