They should do Generations. There are moments in that movie they will appreciate.

Ben Chan

I would disagree since they've been watching TOS and also .... without spoiling, some TNG characters get good moments I think they would enjoy watching.

DarkAshtar

I'm a casual Trekkie at most, so I leave that to the true Trekkies lol. Though i mainly said it because they were jumping over the TOS movies entirely so I figured why not go straight into the real TNG movies and if you're gonna skip TOS related movies go all the way.

trylikeafool

This would be a bad idea considering some major things happen that Kat will miss. Jumping straight to First Contact would be a bit jolting, despite it being the best of the four movies.

trylikeafool

All for a movie livestream. You could do a TOS movie in the meantime while you finish TNG. Then hit up the TNG movies.

DarkAshtar

I'd say skip Generations and do First Contact

Zegron

loved watching your reaction to this episode! one of my favorites! I think your idea of celebrating 20k subs with a watch-a-long is a FANTASTIC idea!

Bluefox

She's about to throw it to Kat.

Bluefox

So does this mean that, if you hit 20k early, we can get you to watch a TOS movie instead? I really think you'd both love the trilogy of movies 2 through 4. (I have a feeling more people would be excited to watch those with you.)

Bluefox

Because Q wasn't telling the whole truth. His strongarming ways weren't working, so he used subtle coercion here, making sure to give her a false choice, knowing she'd eventually use her powers. Similarly, the Q didn't want her parents leaving, so they didn't take away their powers, either. What I wonder is what happened when Amanda figured this out. Because (spoilers through Voyager/Movies) she is never acknowledged again. Heck, they seem to forget about her parents. The only way to make it make sense is that the Q didn't kill them--Q did just say "what if we did", after all.

The other thing I remember Olivia d'abo from is The Wonder Years where she played the older sister but she wasn't really featured much in that series

Henchman Twenty1

Yup. Too true. Even the Q are powerless against it!

ian webster

Yes Paula, theirs a great shot of you falling asleep during Doctor Who's "Tomb of the Cybermen.

Peter Hutchinson

because it wasn't in the script

Naturally most of us are very much onboard with you gals watching the movies in any way shape or form. But the end of the show is still some ways away. Why not slot a TOS movie or 6 😁 in there first. I'll think you'll enjoy them. And hopefully choose a time which is watchable for us Europeans too if it's live.

Henchman Twenty1

She's aiming it over her shoulder trick-shot style. There's one of those flying fried egg creatures from TOS "Operation Annihilate" coming at her neck from behind.

Henchman Twenty1

So why couldn't the Q just remove her powers and make her really human like they did to Q in season three's "Deja Q"? Problem solved. You could still show the pressure on Amanda trying to decide to be a Q or Human.

Keith Goodnight

A lot of the drama of this episode comes from the series' carefully averting its gaze from the time the Continuum turned Q into a human with no powers. If they'd done that with Amanda's parents the whole situation would not have arisen, or if they'd done that with Amanda it would have been easily resolved. But what the heck, this is a great episode anyway.

Christopher Hayes

The phaser is on stun.

Dan Crucy

I'm not new to this channel. Can you explain to me how I've never noticed that before?

Jon Hoover

I'm still new to this channel. Can someone explain to me why Paula's cartoon is pointing a phaser at her own head?
