Indeed, and in fact I think the changes they made to the show from the campaign are improvements...the downside of course is that with events pared down, everything feels much more rushed in the show, but watching the campaign can help remedy that and give context. That being said, there are some major events in the campaign that I think the show cannot possibly avoid in the future, so watching the OG campaign much past the Briarwood Arc could cause spoilers for Season 2 and beyond. Granted, those seasons will necessarily continue the trend of making adjustments from the source material, but there are some real big things that are going to inevitably be in there...

The great thing about the series is that they make changes to the events of the campaign so that even if you've watched it, there are things that are going to be new. And even knowing the events doesn't lessen the enjoyment, it's just that well written.

This is, hands down, my favorite episode of Season 1...I get so excited whenever a new reaction to it drops 'cause I get to watch it all over again :-) That being said, I do think that the finale is the best one of the season...the thing about this season is that each episode builds on and is better than the one(s) before - but not one of them is bad, either...so by the time you get to the end it's just a masterpiece on all levels. The entire battle here is just so well choreographed...combined with the quality of the animation, the writing, and the sheer talent of the actors...it really is an amazing thing to watch. Fun fact: although they used the Campaign 2 main song to represent this series as a whole, the section of the score that plays when Keyleth is charging up her uber, vampire-killing Sunbeam is a slowed down, almost hymnal, orchestral version of the original Campaign 1 theme song. (It gets me every time I hear it!) I do hope that Katrina enjoys Campaign 1, it's what I started with when I began my own Critter journey back in 2020 and it has a special place in my heart. Admittedly, it starts out a bit rough, sadly (thanks to a certain cast member in particular, unfortunately...he doesn't stay very long though). It'll take quite awhile to get through, but on the plus side, take your time with it and maybe you'll be able to avoid potential spoilers for the next season(s) of this show :-)
