I have been watching lately your earlier reactions, and Paula was constantly commenting in them about how the Doctor was always blowing up buildings, so it felt a little weird seeing the building collapse without that reaction.

It's odd how Whittaker's regeneration feels as if it was premature. When it was first announced she was leaving, a lot of fans who disliked Chibnall's work said "Look! She's bolting out early because she knows how his bad writing is ruining her career!" But that's just nonsense. Her departure is actually right on schedule: apart from Eccleston, all new series Doctors stayed for three seasons plus some specials. Four of the seven Classic series Doctors stayed for three seasons and the one that had less time did so because he was fired for criticizing the BBC executives. Three seasons the normal tenure. And yet is DOES feel like she left early. It can't be just because the Flux season was shortened. To me it seems more like we were only just beginning to see who Thirteen was. All Doctors have gone through life affecting some sort of obfuscating eccentricity to cover up their real selves; for Thirteen, she hid behind the constant stream-of-consciousness narration. Coming into these last specials of her era we're only just starting to see behind that curtain, like we're at the beginning of Thirteen rather than at the end. Which does bring it back around to Chibnall's work as showrunner, letting exploration of the Doctor's character slide.

Katrina's watch becoming active from the stress of the ep reminded me of when I was at DragonCon 2019 in line to meet David Tennant and mine said I burned ALL SORTS of calories. It thought I was working out, but really I was just an mess of anxiety and nerves with an elevated heart rate instead. LOL!

Just this episode alone was better than over half of the Flux arc (to me). Looking at all those loose threads.... ;)

Sarah's mam is played by Pauline McLynn, best known as Mrs Doyle in Father Ted. Don't think she was in Derry Girls though.

RTD got us ready for Tenant to pass. After all his Doctor had gone through you could see he was exhausted, he has passed through The Lord Victorious, survived the Master and the almost return of Gallifrey. Literally, you could feel his time was up. I dont feel that with Jodie.

Love what Nick Briggs does with the Dalek voices.

I love Bea Aisling in this one!
