The cutest little trivia: Malachite, the fusion of Jasper and Lapis Lazuli, becomes toxic in contact with water. Supposedly Rebecca Sugar didn't know that before writing them chaining themselves under the sea. Such a bad relationship.

I've just been able to see the full-length reaction for this episode, it was so good! I did wonder why there was an extra gem on the temples door and theorized that Garnet counted for two because she had two gems, but that was before the first fusion episode, and since I wasn't so into the series then it took me a loooong time to get to that episode and I had already forgotten all about it by then 😂

They actually revealed it on the sly when they were trying to teach Steven fusion they showed three gems too. Stuff you only notice the second time. Also I forgot Garnet's song happened so early. It's one of my favorite songs.

I got spoiled on the Garnet reveal myself, but it was also the thing that finally intrigued me enough about the show to try it out. I don't think it took anything away from my experience, especially with all the surprises I later got to see. But I sure do love seeing others' first time reactions to this reveal though!

Admit it! We've all been just waiting to see Paula's reaction to Garnet's fusion. Did not disappoint (a few eps back Paula wondered whey there were 5 gems on the door in Steven's house if there were only 3 Crystal Gems & Rose). Now 'ya know.
