Having a big ol' mental freak out atm, but both you lovely ladies and classic 60's Who combined is helping to soothe my nerves a bit. Thanks so much🙏😅x

Congrats on finishing season one! I totally get the need to change things up a bit, and I'm definitely looking forward to your River-Watch. That said, I definitely give a recommendation to jump into season two someday. Story for story, I think it's better than season one, and if nothing else, there are two stories in there where I think your reactions have the potential to be priceless! Always enjoy all of your Who content!

In your comments you unerringly identified a common Classic Who story device that Terrance Dicks (script editor [showrunner] of the Third Doctor era) called a "loop". The Doctor and party have been captured, they escape, there's a chase or other action scene that ends with them being recaptured, and the overall plot is exactly where it was before-- but they've filled up an episode of the required count. They used to use this a lot. In "Ye Olden Days" when viewers tended to just enjoy the weekly episodes and put less emphasis on the serial story arcs, this was more harmless than it seems to viewers now. They didn't do it all the time, they did try to keep the stories moving as much as they could, but now and again it was okay for the show to say "In this week's episode, here's a standalone adventure of the Doctor in the midst of current goings-on. We'll get back to the story next week." Viewers were mostly happy to go with that.
