I've been meaning to get started with these, but I wanted to catch up on the show first. Well, yesterday I discovered that only the first two seasons are available in Norway, for some reason...! So here I am, lol. Won't comment on every episode so much longer after the fact, but I'm looking forward to re-watching with you. :)

There is a book that was released a while back that I've read many times, called Star Trek The Next Generation: Warped. An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season and it's a satirical comical take on story ideas from Mike McMahan on what season 8 of TNG might have been like. It's a fantastic read and it'll make you laugh out loud. Well worth looking up. It certainly will explain the type of humour you're in store for with Lower Decks.

As you can tell by the end, Mariner is basically a Star Trek fan within the universe. The majority of references to previous shows probably come from her name dropping.

Discovery is pretty good, it has become one of my favourite Treks. However, it is a little darker, especially in the first season, so I understand it's not to everyone's taste.

I binged a bunch of new Trek in the course of about a month earlier this year -- Prodigy, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds. Loved it all. (Didn't feel up to trying Picard or Discovery, weirdly enough.) (I'd strongly recommend SNW, which is short and modern, possibly overlapping with LD for reasons...)

I admit once TNG ended, I haven't been watching much of the Gals' reactions. Just wasn't as interested in the other shows, plus I was watching someone else do Galactica. But I'm back for this show. As a lifelong Trek fan who loves this show, it'll be a fun rewatch. While I've kept up with all the most recent Trek series, this is really the only one I truly get excited to have a new episode arrive. My favorite part of these early episodes is the idea that the main crew is having adventures that our characters just don't get to see!

I was actually part way through season 1 of My Adventures with Superman before I realized Jack Quaid who voices Boingler also stars in Lower Decks and is Hughie in The Boys both shows that I watch. Finding out the same actor stars in 3 shows you watch after multiple seasons, at least 3, and you didn't notice is just embarassing lol.

Oh my gosh, I was out of the loop and had no idea you guys were doing this, but I was just thinking the other day about how the Trek + animated combo would make it perfect for your channel! I never expected to love Lower Decks as much as I ended up doing when I first watched it, so I'm excited to take the voyage again.

Holy shit! Lower Decks! My favourite post DS9 Trek. I was very sceptical going into it, but it won me over right from the start.
