Hey Kat and Paula: Here's a shortie that you may be interested in. 'Red Dwarf - Theme, Filmová filharmonie' is an orchestral-choral version which was played in a SF themed concert. Watch for the French Horn player at bottom left at 0.19 seconds in. - To see the French Horn player and the percussionist's response, there are two videos of the same concert - which was in Prague in 2022 - and this is the video taken from above in the 'Gods'.

The writers thought that they had invented a fictional swear word with 'smeg', unaware of its rather obscure real-world usage in the pre Internet age. Sci-fi has a long history of fictional swear words, BSGs 'frack' and 'felgercarb' date back to the campy 1970s original of my childhood. I also remember the Judge Dredd comic strips giving us 'drokk', 'stumm', and 'grud' from around the same time, and the novels of Larry Niven using 'tanj' - There Ain't No Justice. And not forgetting Firefly's 'Gorram'!
