How they fought, Rebecca Sugar specifically but I'm sure there were others, who fought to allow these gals to get married. There are still places in the world where you would get killed just for being queer, so let's try to say this in solidarity: As long as there is a lower class, I'm of it. As long as there is a criminal element, I'm in it. As long as there is a single soul in prison, I am not free.

Not only is my phone always set to silent. It also automatically goes into do not disturb mode from 930pm to 7am.

Ah, the complex relationship we neurodivergents have with our phones. I think an unsolicited video call isn’t something that I would ever welcome, because there’s a lot more pressure to mask and be “on” when someone can both see and hear you. I leave the bell on my phone off 24/7/365 and only turn it on if I’m expecting a critically important call or text. If someone texts me, I respond when I care to (and have the spoons to), and when someone calls, I’ll pick up if I notice the phone is ringing and it’s someone I want or need to talk to (again, assuming I have the spoons). I also turn the notifications on most apps (including messaging and social-media apps) off. My phone generates so much less stress and anxiety when I’m not listening to it go off all day or constantly getting alerts.

This was the first LBGTQ wedding in the history of children's television. So they made some very specific choices. In some of the less progressive parts of the world Ruby was often portrayed as a boy. They'd even cast a male voice actor for the language translation. So they put deliberately had Ruby in her wedding dress to make the point. Also they combined the episode with the big Diamond fight everyone was waiting for so they couldn't skip over the episode.
