It seems silly now, but I did not expect King Francis to just go out with a whimper like that. Was he expecting things to this way? Can't wait for the next chapter! I love book 4 so far. Makes it almost worth the long wait since book 3 release :)

The obvious move is to act against both sides, but there would be ramifications... I wonder if he can conquer Lyon without immediately antagonising Paris. The terms didn't say Lyon was conquered, only defeated. So they're still kinda independent enough for a conquest to not have immediate effect. But what would even be the logistics of that? Conquest is tedious.

This was so funny, but also low key epic. I'm glad Alexander was patient enough to watch the entire game of chess unfold without stabbing the players then and there. I really wonder what his next move will be.
