Red Sonja in Chains.

Its rough but I know it always takes a little time to get everything back. I do find when I take a break, I’m able to get rid of some bad drawing habits (or learn some new ones!)
I wasn’t expecting the reception for a Red Sonja comic in the last poll! My concern is that Red Sonja isn’t a major comic character and I’m hoping that everyone knows who she is as she has been passed around from studio to studio and whored out by Marvel to anyone who needs her (slut! LOL).
So, I don’t like drawing violence (except for the erotic kind) and although we can’t have a barbarian sword for hire without a little violence, the comic is going to be mostly sexual... which (breaking news) I LOVE to draw! How do I draw a Red Sonja comic without tons of gore and violence?
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around that and came across a fanfic about Red Sonja getting captured. Not a great story but it did get me thinking that this would be great groundwork for a Red Sonja story. Of course Red’s strong will can never be broken so we can expect her to constantly resist her many captors and finding ways to use any opportunity she can to her advantage.
I’m going to come up with a rough outline and we’ll see if I can get this project going!

I seriously think Red Sonja isn’t popular because they made her a virgin while Conan whores and has sex with every peasant and royalty he meets. Maybe I should put together some required reading. ;)

Oh, that’s good! I read another red Sonja comic which was a series of present day and flashbacks. Maybe under her duress she flashes back.

I know Red Sonja is basically female Conan, not much else. If you want to avoid violence, maybe retcon her her early life. Say when she went to learn how to fight, the weapon masters mistook her for a young whore, and used her as such. Sonja, thinking that was the training, became that kind of warrior. Fuck first, ask questions later.
