Terrell Kirkman

I'd ship Boimler with that girl from delta shift.

Robert Carson

I'm OK with it on a tablet if needed.

John

I would love to see Boimler end up with Mariner. However, I can also see them just ending up as life long friends like Kirk and Spock or Picard and Riker.

Ashtara Levin

I saw an interview with Jack Quaid (done with Jessie Gender, between seasons 2 and 3, if anyone is interested) in which she asked him if Biomler is asexual, he said he never thought of him that way, but he was very happy if Biomler appealed to people who are and that they could relate and see themselves in him if they did. I personally have a friend who is asexual and is in a relationship, the two things are not mutually exclusive, and I can see both in Biomler, I just don't think we've been introduced to a character that might compliment him in such a way ( - with maybe the exception of Jet, I just haven't seen them interact for me to judge more on that..)

Ashtara Levin

I think I know what you mean regarding "a definite answer" regarding Boimler's romantic future or inclinations, and I disagree. I can't say anymore right now, so I will pin this discussion for when the appropriate episode comes along

Ashtara Levin

To answer your question - I'm like Paula, I only use Patreon on my desktop/browser, because it's just easier and nicer to watch the videos on the larger screen

Travis Boyle

Glad you Gals enjoyed the Kayshon Puppet. I thought he would make a nice addition to your growing menagerie of characters in the background. Great episode. The bar carvings was such a sweet moment. Totally forgot the Dr. T'Ana joke. " I let the Admiral put a beep up my beep.". Lol. Useless nerd fact the alien as Shelby's first officer was the original makeup design for Star Trek Discovery character Saru. Ultimately the makeup design was changed when the producers realized every shot with this major character would have to be a special effects shot.

I was gonna bring up the time in voyager when they went back in time and stole a truck and kidnapped sarah silverman. IDK if there was a chase but there was some kind of shoot out.

Christopher Dorn

I think there was one in Star Trek Nemesis

Christopher Dorn

Right because of them going to REDACTED and meeting REDACTED.

Robert Carson

Perfect character actor when you need nebishy.

Lizbeth Marcs

Richard Kind is one of those people who are in just about everything. A total "Hey, it's that guy!" kind of comic actor.

Lizbeth Marcs

This episode is totally my happy place! Also, knowing what I do about what's ahead, it also marks a turning point for Boimler. His character starts growing by leaps and bounds from here on out. You're gonna love his character arc! As for whether or not Boimler is "shippable" with anyone (when not possessed by a parasite), let's just say you are going to get an answer to that in the most hilarious way possible. And, oooooo, I can't wait until you see what's in store for Mariner on the romance front. Still, as someone pointed out above, the writers are less interested in romance and more interested in the power of friendship and how it encourages people to grow and change, which you will get in spades. It's so very satisfying to watch and really gives this show its heart.

Ashley

Oh man I forgot about this ep. Such a good one. And how often do you get a car chase in Star Trek?

Chris Neumann

I'll do y'all one better (or worse) with the portable video discussion: I still use my iPod Classic, and will on rare occasion watch videos on that 2.5 inch screen. As for your reactions, I usually watch them on my TV. Usually desert island picks, stuff I've seen a zillion times. Oh, I looked ahead and gotta give you a heads up, you need to watch Star Trek First Contact before starting season 3. Just in case no one's mentioned that yet, it spoils a lot. Just so you know.

Christopher Dorn

He was funny in Spin City with Michael J Fox.

Robert Carson

Even before I watch the reaction anything with Richard Kind in it automatically is good

Jack O

I really like that the LD crew are just nerds at the end of the day and it's so refreshing to see folks in Starfleet having fun.

One of my favorites... well, come to think of it, there are only a handful of episodes that aren't my favorites. Paula, it's my understanding that I'm a Gen Xer, so I can say you're more than welcome to join us. (Actually, the reason the term was invented originally was because a Boomer thought our "generation," whatever that means, didn't have an easily-defined character... so it's more than a bit ironic that Gen Xer is even a thing.) Re "shipping"-- without giving anything away, I will note that show creator Mike McMahan has said multiple times that friendships on Trek are some of his favorite dynamics--- he frequently references the Geordi-Data friendship as a model to emulate. So, I won't confirm or deny any "ships," but rest assured there is plenty of friendship ahead. :)

Angelus-1701

This is one of the best episodes for me. Lots of crazy stuff then right at the end they hit you with the feels at the bar carvings

Christopher Dorn

I don't know about Boimler, but I ship Tendi and Rutherford, they're perfect for each other. Side note, the Captain Shelby Boimler mentioned is the same Shelby from Best of Both Worlds TNG 2 part episode. Love your reactions and #SaveLowerDecks
