I don’t know whether this episode is going to be one of those “some things just go unexplained” ones, or if it’s going to tie into some grand unified theory of Susan Twist/Mrs. Flood/The One Who Waits/Ruby’s parentage/etc. It definitely feels like it *could* be something like Amy’s story where the apparently-unexplained bits eventually ended up all being puzzle-box pieces. I’m still wondering if the supernatural is a permanent addition to the show, or if it and “mavity” will get the reset button by the end of the season or end of Ncuti’s run. But I think I’m okay with it being just unexplained—because it’s so spooky and weird? Sometimes with Doctor Who the vibe is more important than the “logic”.
