Slowly catching up, was finally able to see this one...! Yeah, it's been a while since I've seen this, and I'm baffled about how it's supposed to work. Why in the world wouldn't they use the time wand to escape? Getting caught doesn't matter when they've got the power to literally stop and/or rewind time in their hands! None of this makes any sort of sense. And yes, it's drawn out and boring. I will admit to liking the Achie scenes though, but they are definitely out of place here. Just a poorly edited mess, IMO. On to the next!

I can't tell if they put in a bunch of filler to replace what they had to cut because of budget or if they put in a bunch of filler because Doug Naylor was running out of ideas. It's such a shame that they never utilized Kochanski like they did in Series VII. They should've had the main plot resolved half way through this episode or earlier and inserted something more complete like an extended epilogue.

It's very depressing to think the closest thing to a Kochanski based episode we've had this whole series was 'Cassandra' (where she is at least important to the plot, has some great lines and has good on-screen chemistry with Rimmer.) I feel bad for Chloë Annett, she deserves better. The Cat is also badly underserved this year but at least they gave him a "cool" heartbeat and Danny John-Jules a ridiculous but fun dance number.
