The thing that I find so interesting about this episode is how, like younger Rutherford commented, he was so angry. Sure, some of it was probably youthful rebellion, but I'm curious if he didn't get along with his parents or something like that. In the season 3 opener, when everyone was back on Earth, Boimler and Mariner went back to their families, but Rutherford seemingly just did touristy stuff with Tendi.
