Valid take! I've been trying to find that perfect middle ground of pausing and I've definitely come around to not doing it too much. Although, when an album is an hour+, I'm much less inclined to pause at all for each song. I got to worry about fatigue at that point lol. Im splitting TTPD into two parts so it shouldnt be toooo bad. Thanks for the support! 👁️ 🌀

Am I the only one who WANTS YOU TO PAUSE MORE?? Some of her songs are pretty dense & require a pause on first listen to follow the storyline. You’re definitely going to need to pause more when you get to TTPD. I really enjoy your take on the lyrics, even when they’re not “correct”. Some of her other folkmore era songs that are not on albums but are kind of her songs from that time are: 1. “Carolina” from a book adapted movie [she wrote it for the movie ‘where the crawdads sing’ because she loved the book sm and just offered it to the creators and they loved it] which is a fully self written song (aaron and taylor produced) and one of her best folkmore vibe songs. I haven’t heard anyone not liking it so far. 2nd is “Renegade - big red machine”- basically a taylor song just not on her page but widely loved. And then “The Alcott ft. Taylor” by The National on one of their recent albums. Then there’s “Birch- big red machine” which has very less taylor so it’s not entirely her but still something to explore.

I gotta say, there was just something so special about hearing folklore/evermore at the time they each came out, in the earliest and darkest days of the pandemic. Hearing the song “evermore” when she says “Hey December guess I’m feeling unmoored, can’t remember what I used to fight for” after 9 months of being socially distanced, it was a punch to the heart in a way it wouldn’t be hearing it for the first time now. Same with the lyrics in cardigan “to kiss in cars and downtown bars was all we needed” during a global lockdown. (Sorry for the paragraph, love the new lighting 🩷💜💙)
