Yeah exactly. The original plan was to trade them the real stuff, he hadn't intended to screw them over. To be fair though, it's probably not the worst thing in the world those guys didn't get their hands on nitroglycerin... who knows what kind of crazy Breaking Bad shit they were planning! :D

Ohhh shit so they were prepared for Michael going there right... Damn now it makes sense why his plan seemed so silly to me, as in thinking the drug gang was gonna buy that fake stuff from him... But he had no choice

Halfway through the season... But ONLY halfway through the season, which is crazy when you think about how much crazy shit has happened! Also - remember two episodes ago when they almost caught Michael at the botanical gardens? Mahone and his merry band of agents found the nitroglycerin he had been hiding there. Now we know what that was for - and also why Michael had to try to trick that guy with fake stuff in this episode. The FBI had taken the real ones! If things had gone according to plan back in that garden, this episode's conflict would have been avoided...
