It might be possible...? <.< I'm kind of half assuming, I'm sure there are ways to do something like that. The only way that I can picture it working is by offering a toggle for it at the start of the game. But if the player chooses to turn it off, it would mean two things. (1) We leave the affection gains/minus there but the gui icon is hidden pretty much, this makes it so unlocks at times still work for those keeping it on. (2) We have the game skip over affection gain/minus offered, in it's place hidden variables if needed. But that seems more intensive for changes needed to be made to have that work while keeping the affection on in mind. I think the main thoughts being considered is trying to focus less on affection stat building with choices and in it's place keep things fun for players still. Offer choices to be both fitting into what's taking place for the game and less about "Which choice will give me another point?" A brief example of choice is taking the idea that the current day 2 in the game with our plans right now on it's adjusting, at the start of that area (episode 2). It'll have Erika as your guide to help you around for a while as you get used to the academy more, but Miki will come along and thinks it'd be fun to be your guide. So for the rest of how day 2 (episode 2). It'd play out a bit different in feeling based on who is your guide. (Erika) You can see a different way of how things play out for Miki being in the diaper training room and instead of Miki guiding you to Nova. (It's still rough as we're still working on hammering out the details, but stuff that should feel more engaging to what's going on in the story and give it more of a episode feeling as it hangs onto it's existing content as well.

is there not a way to make it an optional feature in the settings? feel that would solve most the devides here given the sheer scale of your game.

I figured many fans do enjoy the affection stat menu and building of stats. :P I did a poll a long time back when we first began our reboot process leading into this year asking if it felt like something to keep or remove at the time. (Of course it was in favor of staying) It's only brought up once again more recently due to how things play out once routes begin, but I'd like to handle this in a way that everyone is happy with it. So I'll be collecting comments on it and doing a poll here in a few days to repeat the general sense for why the poll is there, see how everyone feels about it.

I actually like the affection stats. helps me know if im going the right way. other wise your just blindly doing RnG to brute force the result you want in a way that just takes longer. and given you got a long game its a good thing to have.
