Behind the scenes: Wet Visual Improvements!

It's probably just a preference kind of thing that'll hit differently for everyone. ^^" With MA, I've always wanted to walk a fine line leaning around 75% realistic, 25% fantasy give or take. Of course "realism" can cover a range of what it means, but of course with MA. It's mainly just trying to shoot for diapers that look pretty similar to reality, but not full on realistic in terms of how they're overall drawn/colored. (Wouldn't want super realistic out of place styled diapers that don't match up with the rest of the art style naturally. :P ) Of course with this comparison we're looking at the wet visuals and some will probably like the more brighter, clear sort of setup on the left vs the right. (Nothing wrong with that.) It just seems to be one of those things that pops out in a off-putting way for MA I think. I guess my take with it is that I tend to see many well known artists within the community that color their wet visuals in a way where it's not that bright or more transparent to better blend in, where our example seen on the left is probably not quite pulling it off exactly. All that said, we should hopefully have a better idea of just how these comparisons should look here as we head into the new year. It could be that the example on the right is a example of the shading/shadows making the wet visuals come off in a bit too dark way too. (Not trying to have the wet visuals fully look similar to messy discoloring by any means. ^^" ) Along with that I think some minor adjustments to how some highlights and lighting to the diaper areas can help make it pop in a good way. We're of course still looking around and researching into all of this, looking for little subtle references that seems lacking with MA. That way we can do some testing examples to compare against, seeing what seems to work best with MA's art style overall too. ^^

I don't understand the desire for realism with diaper art. If wetting/messing art were true to irl there would be little to no coloration at all, only varying levels of sagging/bulging. Which doesn't do a great job to convince the reader of what happened in said diaper in a still image, which is what the new art on the right seems to be leaning heavily towards as I immediately thought "why is she wetting pink dye". This is all my personal opinion of course. If the majority of people seem to like having realism that's fine, I'll get over it.
