v0.20 updated release news! #2
🕑 Added 2022-05-21 00:34:50 +0000 UTCOkay! Part of this is from our recent news post today, so bare with me if it sounds the same. This is more for keeping our public fans informed and updated on a brief to the point level.
As many of you are aware, our original plans were to release v0.20 by May 15th, followed by adjusting this to the 15-20th instead. I haven't heard back from our programmer with any updates in general for a little around a week by this point in time.
I'm unsure what is going on or what to think about proceeding without jumping to any conclusions too hasty. The situation is a bit awkward, but I'd like to see how things unfold into the weekend and a little into early next week to possibly hear back by then and have further update on the situation by May 24-25th as to what we can expect.
Ideally, regardless of how things play out. I want to ensure that even a few scenes of episode 5, v0.20 are released before the end of May. As this would be better than not providing anything, then get the rest tackled and put out quickly afterwards.
One way or another, I'll do what is needed to make sure we get some content released before the end of this month at the very least and proceed with decisions beyond that depending on how things unfold.

Thank you for the kind and understanding comment! <3 Even if things don't quite work out regarding the programmer, I do hope to stay somewhat professional with the situation even if it has caused issues. Without saying too much, I did notice some warning signs leading up to the current situation. But I was hoping to at the very least keep them around and still credited, even if its simply for v0.20 content and go our separate ways on good terms afterwards. All that said, I do think regardless how things turn out here for v0.20 content. It might be for the best long term development wise to begin seeking out a qualified programmer that fits the mark, aware of what we ask from them and what is received as a team, etc.
As someone who has worked on projects outside of my job, I'm very understanding of delays and issues that may go on in the background. I'm very excited to see what you've all done with v20, and I don't know exactly what's been going on behind the scenes, however, this programmer you all have been working with recently seems to have been lacking communication for basically the entire time. As an employer, I wouldn't put up with that for as long as its been going on. I love Messy Academy and I'd love to watch it succeed, but I think it may be time for Messy Studio to let go of this programmer and find one that is willing to communicate openly and consistently. I understand this is a niche fetish and it can be rather difficult to find a competent programmer that is comfortable with the content of the game.
