NSFW Chapters?

so, I was slightly overly motivated yesterday and maybe a little horny. Not entirely sure what happened for this to come to life.
Anyway, I ended up writing an over 6k words long chapter. Roughly 2/3 of that is NSFW. The events aren’t clearly described to the very absolute last detail, but it still is pretty graphic. When I tried to write NSFW before, I cringed myself to death once I reread whatever I had done, but I actually quite like it this time. Maybe because I didn’t get hung up on details and just wrote what came to mind. Granted, that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to kill myself when I go over it again in like a month.

The thing is, what to do with that chapter now… The chapter works almost just as well without the NSFW part with a bit of implied ambiguity towards the end, like I do every so often before. It feels like a bit of a waste, though.
On the other hand, there are already way over 200 chapters without actual NSFW, and changing the rating on ScribbleHub and RoyalRoad for that one chapter so far. SH would complain that they have to wait so long, while RR would complain that it’s a thing at all… I’m not even sure whether there will be more chapters of that kind, either. This one just kinda happened on its own, and it was already too late before I noticed.

Change the rating on SH/RR to include it for everyone?
Patreon exclusive NSFW chapters just like the illustrations so far? Public release will be censored/have the NSFW part cut out.

By the way, before anyone gets too excited now, even the highest tiers have to wait for two more months before that very chapter shows up. I’m more trying to find out what to do the next time I get motivated.
I'm open to other suggestions~.

Yeah, I wanted to everyone have the chance to get at least a little depending on their budget.

Yeah, some probably would either complain that the actual NSFW takes 200+ chapters while others would complain that it happens at all at that point. Sophia and especially Maya being kinda lewd at points probably doesn't make that much of a difference. Using it as an incentive for getting more supporters on Patreon is a point, too. It could've been a coincidence, but it feels like the number of patrons increased a little more than usual after I mentioned the NSFW illustrations~.

I’d honestly forgotten till just a minute ago how complex your Patreon is setup so yeah I can completely understand that.

As i said, its much more free on SH, but prudes are still a large portion of the users. Not sure how much of a problem it would be for your story, since its not exactly subtle about Sophia and Maya's lewdness. its mostly a problem when you dont have lewds, and then suddenly include them. I would still limit the lewds to patreon, it would make it much more worth buying for people who dont want to just buy early chapters.

I do know that ---SH--- and RR, especially RR are not the biggest fans of lewd content. Yeah, SmutHub really doesn't do well with that~. RR, I do agree. Then again, I don't think the viewers can dip that much more there (Happy about the ones who do look at it, though~). Compared to SH, the story really isn't doing well there. Well, Isekai and GL are much more popular on SH, after all.

I'd have to double the tiers to give everyone an NSFW version, and managing 10 tiers at once is too much.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I do know that SH and RR, especially RR are not the biggest fans of lewd content. SH is a lot more free in that regard, but RR you could probably expect a dip in viewers. its full of prudes.

You can set your Patreon to NSFW yourself if it's mainly for R18 stuff. From what I've understood when I was looking for it before the first NSFW pictures, you don't -have- to, though. If Patreon checks the profile and deems it NSFW, they'll do it for you. I have seen pages that are almost exclusively NSFW wothout the flag. I think you have to be 18 to join a membership anyway, so it's more for public posts, I think

I would say Patreon only and I know I’d mentioned this before and how much a pain it could be but you might could try and setup a Patreon role that gives access to them for people that do want them and those that don’t but I could see why you might not go this route.

Changing the rating on sh and rr would be a pain. though im fairly sure patreon also has rules regarding nsfw things. though i have no idea what they are.
