Chris

Your right that's how it's portrayed in the movies but people never recall that aspect from the books

Chris

In dealthy hallows ron uses it to find his way back Harry and Hermione. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Deluminator

Wonderful chapter author sama i cant wait for the next.

Josh Watson

I also can’t find any reference to this ability to hear conversations canonically though either.

Josh Watson

Well maybe that’s because I completely forgot about that aspect to be honest. Legit thought that artifact could just cause total darkness by sucking all light of a given area. And could give that light back in any amount of time.

I find it hilarious that this comment, criticizing basically every aspect of the story came from someone, who from the timing is a part of the highest tier of patreon. Imagine paying 20$ for a story you think is bad...

One interesting thing about HP fanfiction in general is they never address the deluminator. In dealthy hallows ron explains that the wiedler of the deluminator can hear conversations whenever someone speaks the holders name. This was used multiple times throughout the series like in the chamber of secrets. My suspicion is that the chamber is under a fedilicous charm and that Harry was only able to figure out it's location and go inside because he had a piece of Voldemorts soul who knew the secret. Dumbledore despite not knowing where the chamber was could send fawks to help Harry once Harry uttered Dumbledores name. Dumbledore's could hear the conversation in the chamber through his deluminator. This is relevant because if it works the same way in your fic then Dumbledore should have heard most of this conversation.

Don't apologize. I disagree with the reviewer. I think it's ok not to learn everything all at once and get teazed with things.

I'm sorry you feel like that, but I can understand your grievances. This was me just setting the stage for something and I did it rather hastily. This was supposed to be like a small history session that would show Harry how small he was in the magical world. He will not come close to any of them in terms of power for years, this was just supposed to motivate him and give him a new goal, which is reaching the root, as well as adding in Black family stuff for the future. I haven't gone into the politics of it, because like it or not, Harry is eleven without any support. No one is going to talk politics with him - except for Arcturus Black which was why I introduced him in the first place. I don't know where you got this portrayal of Dumbledore, that he's some idiot, but in this context, he has literally manipulated the entire magical world to a way of thinking where muggleborns were technically equal, by removing certain knowledge and limiting magical exploration. I wanted him to desire the removal of magical crests to create a fair world for everyone, but well, Voldemort happened. I definitely did not mean to write him as an idiot and I was confused by the way you described him, to be honest. The next year was supposed to be an exploration of his magical crest. I guess I was a bit quick with revealing the world, so I guess I'm sorry about that. In the end, it's your opinion, and if you don't like what I've done, then you don't, and you're free to do so. I am glad for the feedback, to be honest, since I can see where I'm going wrong. Your grievances are understandable, and I will try to address them, whether you keep on reading the story or not. So, either way, thank you.

I think you missed the fact that this is a Harry Potter fanfiction, and the author took someone else's work and is trying to build on that

Thanks for announcing that you’re leaving though, i’ll get a cake to celebrate. I can share it with the people who give constructive criticism that isn’t just “I don’t like these things, I think that the character you’re writing would do this and not that, also you should do what this story does because that is good and I have no creativity so I think that copying how someone else does something is good.”

High Simp of Mephala

Nobody asked, bozo.

Well, I am done with this story. The story is just bad. We've got the Super Duper Lord of Light, the Super Duper Lord of Darkness, Kronos the Time Master, the Master of Death, the super-duper ultra rod of magic inheritance, and so on. And none of them are written well. If you want to find really powerful and smart manipulation, go read Game of Thrones and try to copy that. Because a manipulative and controlling character like your Dumbledore would not let so many loose ends exist. Edit. As I was insulted just by posting my own feelings about this fanfiction, I will go into more depth to explain them. The author adds too many new ideas that do not make much sense in the world, and furthermore, they make the characters very shallow and, well, stupid. Let me give you example. The Crest system. It is not a new or great concept; it has been done in other fanfictions in different ways. But that's not the problem. The problem is this: if crests are so powerful, how would human beings approach them? History tells us that whenever there is any idea of superiority of one blood over another, there is a problem. Now, in our history, blood did not carry any power, but in the Wizarding World, it would. So, just take a few minutes to think about what a group of superpowered people would do if they actually had proof that one blood is better than the other(In books only few ppl got a gift from blood like ability to speak to snakes, in this almost every kid got as author did not show ppl not getting them). For example, the Blacks with their Root of Magic Crest. Now, this is not all. Add to that the problem of Muggleborns(there is actual prof that they are less they other wizards), and it would be hell for them. If you consider all of this, then you can see that the author did not change or show us enough of the world for this change to feel real. It needs to be built up, but it wasn't. Furthermore, the whole system changes how the political world would work and yet we got no real info about that an author gives us more new shit to understand. And this is one example of the problems this story has. If you introduce concepts like Lords of Light/Dark, Crests, Master of Death, etc., without spending time building them, they end up looking shallow. The author should slowly introduce their ideas and develop them over time. For example, Harry's ability to hear magic is great. It wasn't just one chapter explaining what it was; instead, it was many chapters showing us how it works and putting it to use. The same applies to the characters. The author wants to build up Albus as this Lord of Light, but from reading the story, Albus comes across as an idiot that everyone around him seems to think is a genius. Now, I hope people will stop insulting me.
