There is literally nothing spoilery about explaining that episode 5 is not filler.

Also, there is no filler in the first season (first 26 episodes). However, the first 6 episodes of the second season could be considered filler, as they were not in the VN.

For now, you can choose to think of the arcs as separate chapters. They will all tie in together eventually. The VN is structured with 8 "chapters" and so the anime breaks these chapters down into 4 episode arcs.
