It’s definitely silly and over the top camp, even soap opera like sometimes (2x4😂) but that’s imo why I know alanda would LOVE it! Not too bleak or trying to hard to be scary but embracing the camp and queerness of this franchise!

Yeah they flubbed the timeline a little bit; Curse and Cult originally took place in the years they came out (2013 and 2017) but season 1 takes place in the present when it came out, so now in hindsight Curse took place in 2017 and Cult and the show are in 2021.

Something I love about this show that I wish other franchise reboots/requels did more: establishing the new characters before bringing the legacy characters in. We spent the majority of the season getting to know and care about the kids so when Andy and Kyle are brought in, we're excited to see 2 teams we're invested in meet. (Granted, it is easier in tv than film just because there's more time.)

Hey Alanda, the writers actually clarified what year this takes place in! I think the article Devon reads is just out of dated since Andy is so sparse online. There was a gravestone for Jake's dad placing this show in the Fall of 2021. So happy you're loving this show, girl! It's so chaotic and fun

The show takes place in 2017 (which is when Cult of Chucky happened) and given that it has been Halloween during this show, that makes it late 2017. But I wouldn't worry too much about the timeline, a lot of shows are inconsistent with their own timelines lmao. Also this episode is downright EVIL. The shocker it was when it first aired. We came used to one death per episode and then here we fucking lose two mothers?! Damn.

the last chucky movie came out in 2017 (cult of chucky) however i do believe that takes place in 2013 as it takes place after curse which i believe was in 2013. unless if there was a time jump in that movie, i haven’t watched that movie in probably 5 years though

One detail I always can't stop thinking about, while watching this episode is how Bree, literally in her fall of doom, that lasted so very shortly, still tried her best to protect Junior. Like by the glass shards we can see the window was directly above her, and with how she landed, books did and how far that stroller did, she surely had to push it away
