This movie showcases the metaphor of poverty and the struggle of trying to achieve upward mobility so so so well, it hurts. It was McVries' speech about finding the light in the darkness that finally did me in. Beautifully painful to feel and experience with so many others, especially with everything going on in the world right now. Everybody take extra good care of themselves after watching this one tonight <3

I love how beautiful this film is in finding the light in the darkness. It’s so relevant now it hurts. Interesting fact about the actor portraying Ray Garraty. He’s the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman’s son.
