Animaechan, you should watch next time 13, 14 and 15 episode case 16 ep is filler(just showing all events in previous episodes) and it is bad idea to watch 15 episode separated from 14 ep, or combined with 17 episode, you will understand why I'm saying it after watching 15 episode. Also I agree that Nia is nice character and played out big role for Simon in accepting his own strenght

You nailed it. Nia was exactly what Simon needed when he needed it: someone with absolutely no ties to Kamina who wholeheartedly believed in him. The fact that she's so cute and sweet is just the icing on the cake. BTW, notice how, in ep. 11, during Simon's speech, everyone's looking amazed at him. Everyone but Leeron, who's just smiling and nodding. As the mechanic of the group, he knew the ins and outs of Lagann, and that the miracles were actually coming from Simon. Both Kamina and Leeron were the only ones who knew from the very beginning that Simon had it in him, and always believed in him. Of course, all of this is pure headcanon, but doesn't it sound nice?
