I didn't like this show after first episode but now it's one of my favourites also because of it I had to lower ratings of so many anime like One Piece, Naruto, hxh and many others. For example in eminence only person that is saying his attack names out loud is shadow and rest just attacks like normal human being so when I hear rasengan or gomu gomu and it just doesn't make sense and becomes cringe instead. It's not for everyone though cuz you need to at least try to understand Cid. I didn't like mushoku after watching 8 or 9 episodes too but now I'm finishing 18th volume of LN so good luck with eminence.

I feel like I can’t turn my brain off because I can tell there’s more to the story, but with LN shows being adapted I often feel a lot of detail that the story needs just can’t be adapted because of the time constraints for anime. Classroom of the Elite has a similar “problem” if I can call it that. I still watch COTE because even if I can tell important details are skimmed over, the story still is consistent and i enjoy the characters and interactions. This show is just a bit all over the place in terms of tone to be leaving out as much info as they do 😅 (or seem to be leaving out). I did watch episode 9 though and it made me curious to see where the story could go from here - so I’m going to keep watching on my own like i mentioned. Thanks for being so understanding, I was really nervous to post this 😅

Thank you for being understanding! I watched episode 9 already and although I’m still not sure about the approach of the show, I was invested in the story! Then I started episode 9 and the tone was completely different 😂 i decided I’ll save that one for next week hahaha

I'm not sure if I'm going to explain this right. but this show can be viewed 2 ways since episode 9 as a parody or game how Cid sees it or as a normal fantasy with Cid in it. its one of those things where you pick one or the other. most people I've seen and myself chose the cid's life is a game route and turn our brains off. but the light novel and even the manga give more details about how he got his powers and everything. hope you like it and react to the final episodes of the first season and the beginning of the second one,. sorry for the long message.

Don't feel bad it happens, as a fan of Eminence of Shadow I'm the one that feels sad that the anime was not able to meet up your standards 😭. Hope you can enjoy it a little bit more on your own time or at least get a few laughs out of it. PD: Might want to avoid YouTube reactions, toxic fans can go crazy.
