Maybe Denise was too hard on her, but Denise was past it. She just wanted to get back to her seat with her friend. On the bright side, the wine glass was huge... at least to her. She was pretty sure this was all the wine she would need for the evening. She was hoping she could just stay at the table with her friend and not have a situation like that happen to her again.
As she continued walking back, she made out two girls that were turned around, towards the bar counter, and looked to be finishing something up on their phones. As she approached them, they both made eye contact and quickly turned back around. "Did they really record what just happened?" Denise thought to herself. "What is wrong with the youth today? That better not be on TikTok...", She could hear them giggling as she got closer. It was so odd to see how massive people were. The chairs were taller than her, the tops of the seats near shoulder height. She could see these girls’ rears, moving as they shifted around, wider than her own shoulder span. The girl in the heels looked really tall, and her head was currently hip level as they say there. While she wanted to go up to them and say something, she knew that wouldn't help. They may not be as forgiving as the other girl was, and there was 2 of them. If something started going down, she knew her friend would come to help, but she didn't want to drag her into that.
Denise just had to bite her upper lip, but she continued to stare up at them, daring them to turn around and look at her again, or for them to make an off-color comment. She could tell they were whispering, but with them being very quiet and so much higher than her, she couldn't make out anything they were saying. "Bitches..." Denise said out loud, but quietly. As her large baggy shirt moved around as she walked and using both hands to hold onto and stabilize the wine glass, Denise started to think back about what happened not too long ago. She was once as tall or taller than the girls she was looking at, but no more.
She remembers it quite well. She had gotten back from her old job, working as an office coordinator. Since the incident, she had taken extended time off to recover from this ordeal and see how, or if, she would go back to work. It was a long day, so she changed into something more comfortable, and laid down on the couch, browsing her phone. Not too much later, she got a rush of tiredness. This wasn't unusual after a long day and lying down like this, but this was much more powerful. She put her phone down but didn't even get a chance to put a pillow under her head, passing out into a deep, yet relaxing sleep.
Unfortunately, it did not last long. She began to have a nightmare, seeing herself from a 3rd person perspective, above where she laid. She could see (and feel) her body condensing and slowly getting smaller and smaller, and she could not wake up. Her tight top began to loosen, and as she and her breasts continued to get smaller, could no longer "hug" onto them, causing the material to slide around all over her as her body pulled inward. Her pants started to become baggy, her shrinking legs and feet catching onto the material, pulling it inward as well.
After she stopped shrinking, she could see how small she was, how her body was engulfed by the pants and top. Her phone that sat on her chest now took up most of her stomach area, the phone possibly being wider than her own waist. She could see her little arms poking from the longer and baggier sleeves, the sleeves pulled inward as well during the shrinking process.
"NO NO NO" she thought, as she observed herself, unable to wake up from what she thought was just a nightmare...

What a great breakdown of the scene! Yes it will be interesting to see, with perspectives changes, if attitudes change as well.

I also love your use of perspective throughout the story. Having the portion of this chapter in the bar entirely from Denise's perspective really brings home the alienation of her situation. The way everyone else's heads are cropped out highlights the fact that she is living in a world beneath everyone else. Even when we see other people's heads in the story, they are usually blurry, highlighting Denise's social isolation. I'm looking forward to seeing her interaction with Amy. Given. that Denise used to be quite tall and Amy is short, it will be interesting to see if Amy has any lingering resentments about the way her friend used to treat her when she was the big one.

I love this story so far. So many great touches in the writing and renders. In addition to her lack of height, the baggy clothes rob her of whatever feminine figure she might possess, while every other women in the place is dressed to flaunt it. With her short hair, wearing what look likes a hoodie and cargo shorts, she should be glad people mistake her for a little girl and not a little boy. As for her mission to help Amy get "back in the swing of things", I can't see that Amy having an apparent child with her is going to be a big help in attracting guys.
