I didn't get to see half as many new movies this year as I intended, but of those I saw, I think my favorite might be Fire of Love, the documentary about volcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft and their search for the Sublime. Through archive material, it manages to realize its protagonists as well as any fiction film, which is quite impressive.
