Japan does have a Day of the Dead holiday... it's technically it's own thing though, theirs is called the Obon Festival, lasts multiple days and it's in July or August (depending on the region). Children's Day is celebrated in a lot of different countries, kind of a global event, just celebrated on different days depending on the country.
