Progress Report

Howdy! Here’s what’s up:
This is the last progress report before the update. We officially ran out of things to report on - just making sure everything we’ve talked about works as intended and as good as it can be.
The pole event was the last “big” artwork needed for the update. Now I’m going to draw some things that aren’t really required for the update (like a “consent form”, manly handshake, more cum etc.), while Moana is coding in the rest of the update and the pole itself.
In this post I’ll talk about the second pole event, it’s repeatable version and how exactly it will all work, but first - here’s a couple of notes:
- About the censorship on the teaser.
Patreon recently changed their guidelines and I’m not sure what to make of it. Here’s their new “Permitted adult content”:
“Animated or illustrated works (e.g. cartoons, comic strips, graphic novels) that depict nudity in sexual contexts as long as they comply with Patreon’s other guidelines.”
And here’s one line from their new “other guidelines” that confuses us:
“NOT Permitted adult content”:
“Aroused human genitalia (e.g. erect penis or wet vagina, whether clothed or not)”
It looks like “Other guidelines” prohibit pretty much everything. I don’t think it’s that bad, we probably misunderstood something, but just to be safe - I temporarily censored Kira’s “genitalia”. Uncensored version of this image will be in the game.
- As for the art itself, the golden masks that the pole-men are wearing were a placeholder I used since I wasn’t sure what faces to give them. I’d keep them as is, but the H-event has a serious undertone and they’re just too goofy:) So they now have relatively normal human faces in the game.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about the pole:
The upcoming pole H-event is a bit different from everything we’ve done so far. It pretty much consists of small random H-events that play out in a row and are all tied together with a common theme - the pole itself.
The pole is kind of like a job, Kira is supposed to spend an entire day on it (if she wants to that is), and it's only natural that she will be visited by all kinds of characters. Which is why I drew three “base” poses for her - Alone, One partner and Two partners.
The interactions she can have there are determined by Kira’s Lust, her Fetishes and some choices she’s made along the way.
Some visitors will take selfies with her, some will draw profanities on her body, others might want to sleep with her (if she allows it) or even milk her. And hey, maybe you’ll get a visit from someone you already know?
The deciding factor in what will actually happen is Kira herself and to give you more options we’ve created a little “consent form”:
After a brief introduction to the “pole girl” life, Kira will have to fill out this “Consent form” - and it’s there to give you an ability to direct what kind of content you want to see in this particular repeatable H-event. As well as to show you what content you didn’t unlock yet and how to get it.
This form is not a one time thing - an option to change it will show up whenever you’ll click on it when interacting with the pole.
This way, you will be able to both learn event requirements and pick what type of content you want to see. Maybe some mini-events will not be to your liking, or maybe you’re only interested in one type of thing - any combination will be possible.
The general idea behind this is to give you more options and to simulate the experience of working as a “pole girl”. Eventually we will add even more interactions to this particular place, but it won’t happen soon - so we’re making sure the ones that we have are as good as they can be, with some limited animations and visually interesting art.
Now, that’s how the actual event will work, now let’s talk about the whole deal Kira made during “A Modest Proposal”:
Kira has agreed to either murder Gulag or work as the pole girl once a week. The murder option will already be implemented and it has a whole side-quest attached to it (“Counter Offer”).
Completion of this side quest doesn’t end the pole job and Kira doesn’t automatically murder Gulag. It’s just meant to be there as a guide on how to get rid of this presumably unpleasant deal. This quest just unlocks an option of killing him - you’ll still have to make a conscious choice to do so.
As for the seven day part of the deal, it turned out to be much harder to do than we expected, so the time limit won't be enforced for now.
We want to make it so that every seven days (if this deal is still active), the Guards will become hostile and actively run after Kira every time she gets in their line of sight. On top of that we wanted to randomly spawn more guards, “enforcers” that would try to drag Kira back to prison.
Of course Kira will also be able to fight back, so there’s also an option to casually murder a lot of people. And while I’d love for this feature to be a part of the upcoming version - it’s just really hard to do properly and the majority of work rests on Moana's shoulders and we’ve decided that she should drop this idea for now and focus on the H-events.
I honestly run out of things to say, but everything I told you in this report and my prior reports will be in the upcoming version, and I’ve been talking about it for a really long time, so it is indeed as big as it sounds.
I waited with this report to the very last moment, hoping we would somehow manage to crunch what’s left over the weekend, but we didn’t manage.
This month I primarily finalized everything and to be honest wrote more pole mini-events. One thing led to another, and now it has three poses. Similar ones, but still.
Moana has to still properly animate it, similarly to our last “Mother” event, with zooming-in and some other camera movements.
That said, after this version we’ll focus on smaller updates. This one is just structured in such a way that it’s almost impossible to cut anything out - it’s meant to be played as a whole.

That would be nice, This game knocks on all the right doors in people's minds 😉 has alot of the right content. Inspires me to create something similar but i don't have the equipment or experience with the program aspect . Maybe in the future?

The censorship may be lifted, I follow a couple of others and they are still showing everything. I like the multiple breast sizes in the progression of the game , I think all the different sizes that are usually in your polls should be implemented through the ( new you , farm , porn star or experimental drug ? I also think if the breast get larger the ( hips and butt ) should follow especially if she's going to be the special f#@k meat breeder of the cult ? Just my 2cents, either used or not , great game looking forward to the update 👍 😀 You and your team Keep up the good work

Not yet, Vivarium still needs some “technical/system” stuff to be implemented in order for the optional pregnancy to work. We’ve been slowly updating all content to include prego stuff, but we’re still not done with it. I hope we’ll finish it in a system update 0.5.1 Next we’ll work on V0.5d, which will have a short side-quest written by Moana (she already wrote it, and I already edited some minor inconsistencies - so it’s should be implemented fast) Then it’s V0.5.1, which will add system stuff, primarily a functioning “fetish removal” system. There’s really a lot of “system stuff” and technical debt, so I think we’ll limit ourselves with time (like we’ll only work on it for one month). And then we will return to the Farm part of Vivarium in V0.5.2 In other words - The dev plan didn’t change, it’s just that “A Modest Proposal” turned out to be bigger than we anticipated, so it all stretched out. One thing that did change is that we’ll do both big and small updates in the future. Upcoming version is big, Moana’s quest and system stuff are small, and Farm will probably be another "big" one (or maybe we’ll implement it in “parts” - we’ll see). I want to talk more about how often we should release our updates and how big they should be after the next version will be out and you’d form your own opinions on its content.

I watched the first three episodes and dropped it out of frustration. The first one was great, the second one is where the bad signs started showing, and in the third one it all went the classic “CV, FX, etc.” generic tv show route. The characters are making dumb choices that are presented as “smart” (and not for the sake of comedy), some scenes that are meant to be dramatic are unintentionally comedic (like a “sad” scene where a random wife abuser was supposed to die and his supposed murderers were just standing on the background, waiting for him to finish sadly looking into the sea in the middle of the fight). Action scenes are made rather poorly and feel like they were added just because “we need some action”. And everything just feels too convenient - characters find the right people and the right information exactly when they need to, even if they can’t speak two words in Japanese. I was really surprised it had such high ratings, but then I learned that it’s a faithful remake of an older tv show, based on an old book. All in all, to me it seemed like a rather generic B tier tv show, something that existed before the digital era of media. I think it’s just not made for me, it’s made for the fans and they seem to love it. So, if you’re a fan of the original - go watch it. Otherwise, watch “Blue Eye Samurai” instead.

Howdy! Just a quick head’s up. We’re still working and unfortunately we still need more time. We’re not cutting anything out and making sure that everything we’ve teased over the last couple of months is as good as it can be. I wholeheartedly believe that you’ll like what we’re cooking in thin one, but ultimately it will be for you to decide whether or not spending such an enormous amount of dev time on something like this is worth it. I thought we’d already release it by now, which is why I’m cheating a little and typing this comment instead of making a proper progress report. But, like I’ve said, there’s nothing new to show you, we’re just wrapping up everything we’ve talked about. That said, now I’m finally comfortable with sharing a release date, since there’s no way will miss it - new version will be out in roughly two weeks, and if we’ll finish it sooner - we’ll release it sooner.

Comrade! Glad to see my favorite regular and normal video game is completely in compliance with the updated Patreon guidelines! In seriousness though, I don't think anything needs to be censored. The changes seem to be clarifying that pornography with real people is banned, which it always has been on Patreon. But nothing wrong with caution until Patreon has delivered further confirmation! Excited for the update Mulan and Moana, hopefully everything releases as smoothly as you have envisioned. Good luck!

For the record, there’s no lewd mind-control/forced content in our game, as that would be a violation of patreon’s terms of service. That said, we have a “fetish” mechanic that overrides any Lust requirements. So, in this case, if Kira has a fetish (is into a certain kink) - she will be reluctant to turn something off and encouraged to turn something on by her alter ego. Most encounters in this event will require either a Lust stat to be at a certain level or for Kira to have a fetish. Our usual system pretty much.

I'm a bit confused with the consent form. The customization sounds interesting, but... Presented as consent, wouldn't a reluctant Kira simply turn everything off? I mean, will there be any mind-control/forced reason for her to allow the options besides "I'm already a huge slut so fuck it"
