In my opinion, the longer world building arcs not only provide more interesting stories but also more character development. For example, the story arc involving The Countess was a long one that revealed layer upon layer of character interaction and motivation among Black Canary, The Countess and Barbara Gordon. Only a world building arc can take the time and offer the space for such character development.

Aka, I personally care more for the actual moments but the story arcs often lead to some good ones.

So I suppose I’ll go with longer though what really interests me is the peril moments in each one more than the long-spanning story itself, if that makes sense.

Ngl, im not much of a story guy but the longer arcs often lead to some great and very charged strips. The one of Cass being choked out by that robot dude comes to mind.
