I just shut down and my brain practically goes into auto pilot for week and then out of nowhere ill think about it and curl up and cry and want to die
Feel the feelings. A lot of people try to resist them. Give yourself time but try to maintain some routine. A good one that helped someone I know with PTSD is write a letter to the person as if they are still around and tell them all the things you want to tell them, seal it in in envelope, and then burn it.
