They say time heals all wounds but really it just numbs the pain until it's bearable for the most part. But every once in a while something reminds you of that person and it hits you like a Mack truck. But what makes you a survivor is to work through the trauma and still come out the other side stronger for the experience. I really hope that the visit was cathartic and didn't leave you too sad.
