'but I still had the were with all to say,' I'm assuming it's "where with all" though I don't have much experience with this phrase in text. I think he needs to go with a modified State vs. Federal model for his Baronies. The Barons will only be forced to enforce the King's Law and whatever rules they want to make in addition BUT Amos is likely to create multiple systems of cooperation and resource/info sharing that go beyond what the King requires of his Counts to their Barons and he can withhold the benefits of those systems if his Barons don't enforce his new laws. His main Barony will be so much more advanced than the others that he might even have subsidies and tax breaks to offer that can be revoked later if they make offenses against them and are found out.

Thanks for the chapter! but they didn't cause problems. -> missing the quotations marks for speech at the end (I just realized I think I called those "apostrophe" in a few other comments in case you're wondering lmao!) I really wonder just whats going on there! Great how you set the scene for this scene and aptly portrayed the confusion and shock of that attack! (Also I just ate and am a bit full so that may contribute in me not really finding so many "mistakes" that or you just wrote a very clean chapter here! ;) )

Hopefully he can get the forts well set up and people trained on crossbows properly. Even a 'mere' 10' wall or palisade with some earth work trenches would make attackers lives ever so much more difficult. Especially if they were just expecting poorly fed, unequipped, and disorganized peasants as their only opponents! Converting his peasants into a local militia will probably be what really saves his bacon. I doubt a light raiding force intent on getting a few hundred farmers to sell as slaves and running fast will be interested in a months long siege to starve out a fort which was the other, slower and safer, tactic. Anyways can't wait to see how that turns out, thanks for the chapter in the mean time.
