I added two additional POV. Tanus and Kin. these are regular soldiers from both sides during the melee portion of the battle.

Was this thrown back into my inbox because of a title change or content change? I started reading, excited for a double chapter drop but realized this was just the first interlude from like 3 months ago.

Thanks for the insight.

Aaaw, that was good but usually there is another blip from the "arrogant" warrior class as they realize they have been out done by a mob of surprisingly trained (as much as could be done), geared, and pissed off peasants. Sure, he would probably just blame the numbers but I'm guessing they would expect to at least be able to run away from such "peasant" levies with some of their merc company intact so it would be a fun snippet. It was too late at night to do the typo thing but I remember a misspelled lietenant (which I read as leet ant and chuckled... ) and the tragedy of the point of view being wounded and wondering if he was going to die with his wounded men later from infection/etc... was somewhat marred by the twice misspelled word wounded as "wonded". I appreciate these looks into how the average citizen is feeling about the changes Bicman has made and am impressed they feel such strong loyalty to him when it might be becoming obvious to the higher ups anyway that maaaybe they wouldn't have quite as many of these troubles if he wasn't their leader being targeted by nobles. This isn't true but to those who know enough but not everything (and Amos is very slow at learning information security, especially from his "own people") it could very much seem that way. Some dislike any time taken away from the main character(s) but I think these are not only useful but necessary to the feel of this type of story.

I am thinking about adding another POV. This one, from the perspective of a young man in the infantry. He will probably also die. This chapter shows the benefits of a well-trained military force. Also to give a hint of the trouble the County will be in when a much larger force comes..

Nooo.... right when I thought I liked the new pov of tyson junior he just gets immediatly killed! 😭 Poor boy! 😒

Thanks for the chapter! A tragic but realistic portrayal of the scenario even with the element of surprise due to their numbers, well trained and fully equipped Mercenaries are simply a wholly different caliber. I hope honestly they can at least salvage the weapons and armor of those they managed to kill and perhaps gain leverage on Plimgus through questioning a captive maybe? extract more resources for the inevitable great danger coming for the North Cove!!

I find sometimes, in books, skill doesn't count for anything or that some person or group goes through a few months of training (montage) and can suddenly take down a well-coordinated force who has been doing what they do for years. This is one of those cases where It doesn't work out for the good guys.
