That's it, that is why we had this scene of Flora arguing with her! Plus, she convinced herself she had no other choice. And that this choice would in fact maybe save the life of her loved ones (including Flora). That's my explanation, but as the comic is released, you are all free to make you own interpretations too. I find fascinating the way we differently see the characters!

Interesting I didn't see that coming! Ystelle betraying her mistress. But then again there is a class element involved in her decision. It's usually the peasants who suffer most in war. The people after all didn't vote for their king...
