JoiPlay 1.01.70 and Plugin Updates

This update brings a lot of bug fixes and a few new features. Main focus of the update is improving user experience and fixing current bugs. There were a few bugs that cause some unintended behaviors on launcher and game icons were buggy on last build. New version of JoiPlay fixes these bugs and makes navigation more stable. Ren'Py Plugin wasn't positioning window elements correctly and was using wrong assets on some games which is fixed by disabling changes for phone/small screen variants. Other changes are listed in changelog.

JoiPlay 1.01.70
-> Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy are added to comply with formalities.
-> A few changes are made in launcher adapter for better stability.
-> Thumbnails are added to file chooser dialog for image files.
-> Type conversion related crashes are fixed.
-> Commonly used methods of Window wrapper are added to NWJSAPI.
-> java.time classes from Java 8 are added to fix http server crashes on some devices.
-> Bottom banner is removed on patron builds.
-> Patrons can connect their account to JoiPlay by tapping "CONNECT TO PATREON" button on about dialog. This is experimental and might not work at all. It will be used to remove ads and unlock new features on future.
RPG Maker Plugin 1.00.81
-> NKF extension is included with Ruby 1.8.
-> Walk Through Walls cheat is added for Pokemon Essentials.
-> Pokeball bug is fixed for Pokemon Essentials games with Elite Battle System.
-> MKXP.rpg_version method is added to get rgss version.
-> A few minor bugs are fixed.

Ren'Py Plugin 1.00.23
-> Phone/Small screen variant is disabled by default to make GUI elements fit better.
-> "Use Phone/Small Variant" option is added to settings for enabling phone/small screen variant. This option doesn't change GUI.
-> Gestures are added to hide/show window elements and game menu. Swipe up hides/shows window elements and swipe left shows/hides game menu.
-> Default assets are removed to prevent conflicts.

Thanks for responding. I have the games saved to internal storage at the root level of emulated storage. I'm using a OnePlus 5t with a Snapdragon 835 and 8GB of RAM, Model No. ONEPLUS A5010, on Android 10, OxygenOS 10.0.0

Hi! Is game in sdcard? If it's, you can move game to internal storage. If it isn't, please send a screenshot and device information including brand, model, android version.

Hi, I'm new to the app, but am fairly certain I followed the instruction correctly and cannot play RPG maker pokemon games. I tried both Reborn and Rejuvenation and in both games I start the game and the music begins, but the screen stays black. I can interact with the texts prompts of the game but that is all that is displayed. I'm on this (1.01.70) build of JoiPlay and the most recent RPGMaker plugin so I'm not sure how to proceed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I figured out the theme issue after trying enabling/disabling the "Follow System Theme". Really liking the accent color mixup!

Hi! It seems like new version of dialog library caused it and it will be fixed on next build. JoiPlay follows system theme by default but you can disable "Follow System Theme" option in App Settings to use custom background/accent colors.

Hey I just tried installing this new version and we can't add new games from SD card anymore? I only have the option to add from the device storage. Previous versions let me install from the SD card and I can still play the ones that I added before from it on this version. Also, the background color won't change and it keeps staying white? Haven't updated the app since April and I see there are lots of improvement from the games that I have tested.

Thanks for the activation file for Loren, at least I can continue my game lol. I guess I have to cross my fingers not to run into any game-ending errors then lmao.

MGC_Hmode7.dll is a Windows library so it works only on Windows and Wine. You can activate Loren The Amazon Princess by copying this file to game folder https://mega.nz/file/V0ZzzAzB#if7BlspiZ0Vj-DcA--xNC8tUjpqwEmLMfzm88LuTUVI but save issue can't be fixed easily. JoiPlay uses latest stable version of Ren'Py . Version differences usually don't cause issues but game is build with pretty old version of Ren'Py. When you use a save file from JoiPlay on PC, game can't find new classes or objects in old engine and shows the error. You can try ignoring the error by clicking ignore.

Oh damn that's too bad about Insurgence. Out of curiosity and for science lol, why can't it be fixed? Is it an external plugin thing? Either way, I appreciate you looking into it, thanks a lot :) As for the Loren the Amazon Princess, noted! I really wanted to transfer save files because I don't want to lose progress lol, I don't mind and sometimes even enjoy bugtesting JoiPlay but selfishly I want my play to be progressing lmao.

Hi, Ren'Py saves usually works on both pc and android but there might be something related to Ren'Py version. I will check the game tomorrow and reply again. Also I have a bad news about Pókemon Insurgence. I digged it's scripts a bit and find out soaring feature uses MGC_Hmode7.dll to draw tiles so it can't be fixed. :(

Thanks for the update. I tried a RenPy game this time around (Loren the Amazon Princess). Unfortunately I have a problem with transferring my saves, I plan on playing on PC and mobile for this. Are the saves not cross-compatible? I copied my save from the "saves" folder in my phone to the save location for PC located in %appdata%, but it came out with a long error log with python errors. Here's a sample of the error: https://i.imgur.com/s535sxX.jpg. I did not have this problem with saves with Pokémon Insurgence and Reborn. I'm hoping it can be made compatible to each other so I can play in cases a crash or bug prevents me from progressing in JoiPlay. Also, there is a file called "persistent" in my PC installation seen in %appdata%/Roaming/RenPy/Loren_Amazon_Princess which JoiPlay won't accept, without it, I can't progress further in the game because it thinks my game is a demo and not activated. Meanwhile, I can't connect to the internet and place my registration code to get the full version of the game activated.
