TiER 3/ 4 / 5 Contest in Violation of Patreon Rules & Guidelines.
🕑 Added 2019-02-27 20:52:50 +0000 UTCDear Prissy Flouncy Pink & Bouncy Patrons...
I'm so sorry to say I've been informed by Patreon that my Tier 3/4/5 Contest Violates Patreons Rules & Guidelines...
What this means is that regrettably the current Tier 3/4/5 Contest has had to be Closed and Voided... :(
Over the course of the next Several days (Once I've finished this most recent pin-up), I will be taking a moment or two, to sit down & fully evaluate what decisions I can make regarding this recent information as well as what changes will have to be made to my Patreon.
*Our current Terms of Use do not allow giveaways or raffles to be hosted on Patreon. The goal here is that patrons should be guaranteed to receive something in return for their pledge. When a patron is “buying” chances to win (by pledging), then it is outside of our TOU and gets into gambling.*
I'm so sorry to those of you who are affected by this and I'll update you all very, Very Soon once I've hopefully figured out how best to proceed.
My apologies once again...

Its understandable, as technically they hold a level of responsibility in conjunction with every single patron & creator using their platform. So better to be safe than sorry.

I suspect that these rules were enforced because the European gambling laws are seeping into video games and the internet. Anything that's 'chance' is now regarded as gambling. It's Petty but basically implemented for prevention of any liabilities. In other words, Patreon is just covering it's own @$$ so they don't get sued.

I've now included the information in the post Ben, :) as its technically Gambling of sorts it violates their Terms & Conditions... I do have a couple of thoughts regarding how I could possibly proceed, but I haven't really had a proper chance to sit down & consider those options fully yet.

You don't have to finish by tomorrow, I think we can wait a few more days. Take your time and enjoy your artcraft.

I'm sure that whatever you think of will be brilliant. *waves little fan flag for support*

does it only affect the winning game?

You're correct Roro, Gambling is pretty much what it comes down to, I'm not sure how I will proceed yet. But I have a couple of thoughts, but until I know for certain I will continue to think on the issue.

The Dropbox option works in some cases, but when your still posting the Dropbox link through patreon, then technically Patreons Terms & Conditions remain in effect.

I've just included the information in the main post. I will figure it out shortly for the moment I'm really just trying to finish the Pin-Up image before the end of tomorrow... ^^ I'm Not-Stressed, I'm Not-Stressed, I'm Not-Stressed!!! ^^ :-O ^^ Wow, I'm almost believing I'm not stressed. :D ^^

Aww poo, that bites. Is it because it resembles gambling? Odd, because there is no cash prize, but that's what comes to mind. Authorities tend to be really anal about that.

this folder can be filled over time with monthly or anything condent, many patreon artists do it that way
ben4321
to bypass that, you could post an Dropbox-link in an Patreon Message, many doing it like this. As far as I have seen at others, this can also be limited to individual Tiers.

Can you share what the violation was?
