If you do go with a Gnome based distro, I'd suggest ArcMenu and Dash to Panel are the two extensions that you'll want to go with as they give it that Windows kind of feel. It does look like Cintiq can be setup on Ubuntu and you might want to give GIMP a try sometime. I'm no artist so I can't really say how it compares to Adobe, but it is an alternative that might work for you.

I liked Zorin & I actually ended up really REALLY liking Mint (far more than I thought I would), when Windows 7 updates elapse in January on my laptop, I will 100% be installing a Linux OS on it. :) As for my main Work-Desktop, frustratingly Windows 10 does seem like the only actual choice, especially since I cannot work effectively without the Cintiq or Photoshop. What little photoshop functionality I have with Linux Mint really seems to restrict the memory limitations and the ability to use the program effectively. :( Thank you for the virtual machine suggestion Greg, :) I hadn't considered that.

Zorin is really just Ubuntu with some gnome extensions already installed (it's a little more than that, but not much) so if you found Zorin alright to use, you'll probably find Ubuntu just fine as well. Having said that though, for hardware and software like your table and Adobe, you'll probably better off sticking with Windows. But definitely give a dual boot a go sometime or even try a virtual machine with Ubuntu to see how you like it.

I've managed to somehow fandangle photoshop into working, and I'm now trying to make the tablets buttons function suitably, but so far I just haven't been able to gain the 'more refined photoshop user experience'. Regarding Ubuntu, I don't think I really have the ability or know-how to navigate and use it effectively... Zorin was supposed to be the more 'graphical friendly' easier version of ubuntu, and that didn't work out very well. :-s But I've spent 3-4 days trying to sort out my PC's operating system and programs, and a couple of hours ago I finally gave in and purchased Windows 10 (Which should be arriving via post tomorrow, although I actually feel 'dirty' at just the thought of using it). I really do love using the linux OS's so much and I'm seriously considering a dual installation. As well as using a Linux OS on any system I have where I don't have to use a tablet and photoshop. If I didn't need to return to work as quickly as possible, I would have even considered learning Krita.

There's been no screaming, although I have been slumped in despair once or twice throughout the last 3-4 days.

I'd suggest giving Ubuntu 19.10 a try before you throw in the towel. 19.10 has some significant fixes around video drivers which are often the biggest issues with Linux desktops.
