Quite honestly these days, I feel like I'm drawn to artwork and approaches to art which I've been completely oblivious of... I realised very little art these days genuinely excites me like it used to. Which is a great shame because there are so many artists I followed in years past who's work always left me on the edge of my seat and wanting to see more.

Sendahlove

What specifically are you looking for in art? If you had to ask me I like extravagant, luxurious hyper-femme art, over the top pageantry with out getting comical. I also like explict oral sex scenes. Like kissing tongue play, and almost any hair play. Artwork needs to look polished, shiny, and proportional.

K@T

Very True, regarding them not being in the same category. I used to like Michael Mannings work quite a bit, His Illustrations are beautiful and bold, but they don't quite appeal to me in the same way it once did. I need to find a New B&W Fetish Illustrator who's work I can follow. ^_^

Sendahlove

Nekro does beautiful complex sculpture art.

Sendahlove

I wouldn't put Manning in same category as Nekro, the use of black and white art is barely a commonality between them. Manning is explicitly a fetish artist.

I do very much enjoy Black & White Works like Michael Mannings, another artist who comes to mind is 'Nekro'. He creates gorgeous Black & White Illustrations that look like sculptures, across a broad range of subject matters, from Alien to Batman and many other subjects... https://twitter.com/NekroXIII

I can definitely see some semblance of the two sources. You should check out Michael Manning artwork

I believe he was very much inspired by Egyptian & LoveCraftian works and had his images very much had their own world lore. They are fascinating and dreamlike, but they are also genuine nightmare fuel. ^_^’

I suspect his earlier works went through an experimental phase before he struck gold with Aliens. So I'm willing to ignore some of his works. Many of them are deliberately horrifying and controversial for attention and notoriety.

K@T

I still like many of his artworks and his style is unique, interesting and iconic, but some of his earlier works were just too much for me personally.

I'm flabbergasted by your response to HR Giger's artwork. Admittedly I haven't seen all of HR Giger's artwork, so I'll take your word for it.

Even a gimps require clothes from time to time. ;-p

I’m pleased to know you’re liking the colours SendahLove, the darker (less pastel) colours while not my first choice sort-of felt right for this look… Aliens is one of those safe scary movie franchises, where it’s scary, but not in a disturbing type of way. Having said that, I used to be a fan of HR Ginger, his ‘Alien’ style is incredibly iconic and then several years ago I came across many of his artworks outside of the Alien Franchise and those genuinely disturbed me with their overwhelmingly extreme sexual and explicit nature of them. I know those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, but they genuinely shocked me (and that's not something which happens often when it comes to fetish arts). :-O

Oh! Gimp Fashion!:P

Sendahlove

Love the dark colors, and I would not label this unconventional by any means. This illustration is right up your alley. Interesting to know that you're a fan of Aliens franchise like myself. HR Giger style is so fascinating to me.

K@T

Thank you Roxi. :) I thought a Rubber-like texture would be a good direction for this look & the bondage mask especially. :D

K@T

That's very kind of you to say Kayla, although admittedly this one is probably the most unconventional look I've ever posted here. ^_^' So I understand if it's not particularly liked. :-s Although part of the challenge I'd set for myself was to try and minimize or remove the 'Unsettling feeling'. As can something be 'sexy or appealing' if it's unsettling or visually uncomforable?

Richort12

oh goodness i really dig this design. It's very season appropriate and i love the ornate yet alien look. It having a very rubbery look is also just something i am biased towards ;p

You’ve got nothing to apologise for, KaT 🫂💜 ‘Unconventional’ is what I love most about your work - how you can take an idea or theme, and create something so uniquely ‘you’! Personally, I think you did succeed at what you were aiming for 💜 The design is so alien in its patterning, that it has this slightly unsettling feeling to it (which is perfect for the outfit’s inspiration). The outer dress has that ‘sleek and hard’ appearance to it that reminds me of the Xenomorph’s head, the waist has the ‘rib cage’ bumpiness of the face-hugger (as you pointed out), and even the hair reminds me of Ripley’s own in the first film This was a fantastic look, and a perfect creation for the spooky season 💜💜💜
