I like the current version best, but it's in the eyes. It has a more rugged, sharper look, and I'm not sure how to describe it.

they will be continued in the upcoming major updates 1.7 , 1.8, etc . The updates in between are smaller ones with changes and additions like this to make the game more polished

I like the WIP but I prefer the facial expression of the current MC. I do think the current one looks a bit more 'carefree' which I like, but I wouldn't be opposed to the WIP either

I appreciate the new direction. I think a slightly older and better looking character model that is more hero-ish in appearance makes more sense within the context of the story.

thanks for the feedback everyone. The main reason I decided to change his design is because when you compare with the new sprites side by side(Cynthia, Scarlett, Thea, Taliya) the MC looks a bit out of place and looks younger compared to the girls. And also I know he has a bit of a shady look to him but with more expressions I think he'll grow on you, but however I understand what everyone is saying I think I'll fix his eyes to look a bit more softer. anyway thanks again for the feedback!

you could try mixing them together since in the new one I do enjoy the darker shading and some of the smaller details like the nose and smirk touch ups

I enjoy the current design style more and I like how innocent he looks in the sprite since he is a young lad and is learning how to live his life and starting school and adventuring so he isn't very mature yet

Perhaps try mixing the best aspects of the current and the WIP. For example, how about giving the WIP the more bright and innocent expression of the current, as WIP does look a bit downcast and somber. When he should probably have a more cheerful eagerness and naivete.

Honestly, the current design does it more for me. His face is a bit too wide though. WIP looks too cool and detached, like a side character. Definitely not as innocent.

The WIP looks older, and feels like it matches the design changes for Gabe and Cynthia style-wise. I also like how it has more details than the current design, especially in his eyes.

I really like the changes to the hips/belt, shoulders, collarbone, chin, ear, and nose. The shirt recolor and collar change works. I think the slightly more quirked smile on "Current" is more consistent with the character, but the harder/blacker stroke on "WIP" is good. The hair looks better for the "hotness" intent but to be honest, I prefer the look of "Old"'s hair, both in overall style and shading. Old also has a bit more of a ratty piratical charm with his clothes and blush that's been lost in the cleaner looks. I like the style of the eyes and eyelids, but combined with the slightly downturned gaze, it makes "WIP" seem predatory and malevolent to me, rather than just a smoky gaze.
