🕑 Added 2020-09-03 08:40:47 +0000 UTCA new busy month has begun. I'm currently working on map changes and daily routines of the characters for Emily's update. But more of that tomorrow in the weekly report.
Time to start the poll for the next update after I've completed Emily's part.
The last month's have shown me that you really want me to implement pregnancy a bit ahead of what I originally had planned.
Because of that I will add the first option to vote for a pregnancy update this month.
What does that mean and how will it be implemented?
The woman that is impregnated will pause her normal daily routine and quest while she is pregnant. The duration of the pregnancy will be 2 ingame months (this might change in the future, I will have to see how it works out). During that time there will be new interaction options for her. After that the woman will return to her normal daily cycle. The child will be taken care of by Emily with the mother visiting her/him.
Will there be a limit on how many children each woman can have?
Yes, there will be. If the MC is going to have children with all women in the game there has to be! I have not completely thought this out and will think more about it in the coming weeks. You are all welcome to give your thoughts to this topic on discord!
My current idea is that after the woman can't get pregnant again the player will still be able to replay pregnancy scenes when the MC dreams.
Anyway, here the new vote option:
Kate: Although she tried to prevent it at first, she changed her mind due to her increasing corruption and stopped using a contraceptive. Now, even though she's not yet married to the MC, she got pregnant.

Frisha(+30): After the recent events the new baron Giron has sent for the daughter of the baron of Kirlic to arrange a marriage for his son Dave. But on her way to Arenfield she disappears.. Only a skilled hunter may find her. But if Dave marrys her, how will this affect Frisha? Maybe it would be best for her to never arrive in Arenfield. (New area to the East of Arenfield and for Frisha a decision to make based on past events)
John & Bianca(+13): The king won't pay him for his work but still demands more of it for his troops. Without warning his daughter returns from Parakis. But she has problems of her own and wanted to seek refuge at her fathers house. In addition to that the mine has been overrun, making it impossible to get new ore from within. Bianca will finally take you to her master. (Is connected to the main storyline and the conflict at the frontline)
Lyvia & Imawyn(+74): Imawyn's imprisonment has given way for a new group of bandits who have taken over the region. To find a solution for this you group up with Lyvia to fight them back. Maybe Imawyn is the key to this, you could release her and take over her old group of bandits.
Mira(+24): It is time, Mira has completed her studies and is ready for the initiation ritual. A noble fighter who wants to become a paladin of Uldar will participate in the ritual. For this they have to enter the catacombs below the church. But what should be a simple test goes terribly wrong.
Tia (+41): Now that the threat to Rumah has been dealt with Tia returns home to her mother Katherin. She is eager to get to know her new son in law while Tia spends some time in Arenfield. (Rework of Katherin's character, Addition of some missing scenes to Rumah and new content with Tia/Katherin around Arenfield)
Penny (+24): Henry finally recovers, bringing news from the frontline and trying to find back into his life in Arenfield. He's meeting his old friend Dave and also visiting the smithy in hope of getting back his position as the smith's apprentice. For Penny all of this leads to a decision she has to make. (Completing what I've started with Penny's storyline, opening up for a future quest to reclaim her lost farmland)
Ophilia (+23): While travelling back to Kirlic her small caravan, now much slower because it is only pulled by a donkey, gets ambushed. By pure luck she makes it back to Arenfield now with everything lost she tries to find a way back to Kirlic, but what will her father say now that she failed so bitterly? (Needed for Kate's future quest to travel to Kirlic)
Arianna & Verena (+21): Verena got furious after Arianna returned home. She's been gone for days and Verena was worried. As a result she wants to finally begin to educate her into a fine woman. But now more than ever Arianna has other needs.. That if unfulfilled could spell disaster. There while Rick wonders why his best friend spends so much time with his sister. (Implementation of the carpenter's house and new content around it for Arianna and Verena)

as long as you add scenes with the npc and player character interacting, taking care of, feeding, or doing something for the baby this problem is usually solved quite easily. and it's actually do to two simple things, 1 your an adventurer your job is out in the field so you don't really take care of the baby do to being the out and about, and 2 as long as its not just a pregnant, baby and then they're gone situation it can have an impact on the game be it in a drastic or non drastic way. really in a way it all comes down to how you treat pregnancy in the game, is it just another box to check or achevment to get, dos it hold some relovence and or impact, or is it the end all to be all in the game.

Well, I have to start somewhere with that. This does not mean that no more can develop from it later on when the woman's story is further progressed.

I don't think pregnancy would be a great addition at this point. I've played many games with pregnancy and it doesn't really have any lasting impact in any of those games. I would rather have it implemented at the end where those events could change the course of the game and not harm the game much. Your current plan is just like a mini-game event that has no significant connection to the main story.
