Weekly Status Report

as you've probably guessed, I was in crunch mode yesterday and didn't want to spend an extra half hour writing a report, which is why I'm doing this today, now that the update is somewhat released.
I've already written in the release post that I didn't get everything into 0.5.7.7 what I wanted to. The reason for this was that I changed parts of the planned script again. Parts of Carmen's background story that I had already written were completely thrown out because I didn't like them at all during the test runs. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time, I write something and then when I see and read the scene in the game I don't like it and I rewrite it again.
Another reason for the incomplete content was an extended work on new animations and transition images. As you have maybe noticed there is a new scene with Claire inside the MC's bedroom at the old boar inn (if you stop in the middle when interacting with her in the hallway). Originally this scene wasn't planned but I added it because some people probably don't want to do any sharing stuff with Bjorn. Because of that all images needed an additional background render (so this costs double the time that it usually would). And I also decided to add a little buildup to the scene since that is what usually sets the mood.
I've also decided to add the animations with Kate at the inn that were originally only planned for the wagonride (I originally put this on low priority but in the end decided to do it to give Kate some interaction at the inn in the afternoon). This scene still feels a bit short and I have indeed been working on another animation for Kate, but that isn't implemented yet.
There have also been some calculation problems with the poker minigame that I had to fix. I hope it now always finds the correct winner, but if for some reason it doesn't then please let me know!
Another idea I had when writing the story was to include animations for flashbacks. For example, for Claire when she visited the Inn when she was young, or for Carmen as she tells her life story. That would have given the whole thing a completely different format, but it would have also meant a lot of extra work. What do you generally think of something like this? Not necessarily now, but maybe in the future (maybe as a bonus scene).
Well. Anyway, I plan to add the missing scenes next week and then publish another update. And then of course I'd like to finish the update as soon as possible so that I can finally work on Penny's update.
But now I'm trying to recover from the past week.

Well, on my crusade of creating saves to prepare for Old Boar Inn... I broke the game. I played a game by only getting involved with Claire initially, then eventually you are forced to at least interact with Kate but you can actually get all the way to the wagon building without having sex with Kate. You take her to your room only once and you don't have sex with her. Afterwards you keep telling her to stay here and you do not corrupt her, so you never end up having sex with her. Then when you finish building the wagon, she will still force you to have sex with her in the wagon, but it actually doesn't count. Her relationship tab will say she has had vaginal sex once but she is still a virgin. Then when you finish up with Ophelia and you talk to Kate & Clare about leaving tomorrow the game just gets stuck there. Not literally, but the quest tracker actually says: "Enter Old Boar Inn and introduce yourself" but because the talk with Kate & Claire does not end up in a sex (threesome) but Kate just goes to bed and then you can sleep with Claire or do whatever you want, but it breaks the morning sequence because you do not sleep in the same bed with Kate. So that is my experiment failed to have a save where you only have sex with Claire and end up at Old Boar Inn, haha.

Found a bug, if you look into the blacksmith window at night you are told to leave but since you are outside your game will be stuck.

How to upgrade house? The carpenter shop only has a blank furniture and i got two quests that tells me to upgrade my house but i see no way to do so. I am at the part where i own my house and dont need to pay for it because of mercenaries i got.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend! The only thing I wanted to point out in the current version/build is that it is possible for the Kate impregnation scene to play out but as long as you are at the Old Boar Inn nothing seems to happen in terms of her actually showing any pregnancy signs. I'm of course not sure what your plans are with the Old Boar Inn setup specifically, if Kate is going to ever be able to be pregnant while at the Inn, while travelling towards the Inn, etc. All these possibilities and options - so all I can do for now is point out that the impregnation scene plays but nothing happens afterwards as far as I am aware. I skipped about 20 days without Kate showing any pregnancy signs. It could in theory be one way for Carmen to find out that you and Kate are sleeping around, but from all the ground work you've put in so far I am assuming Carmen is going to find out about all the specifics going on between MC, Kate and Claire soon enough even without Kate walking around pregnant.
