Demo and WIP update on Retail Therapy 2.0!
🕑 Added 2021-10-28 05:14:37 +0000 UTCI have made HUGE progress on the mod formerly known as Retail Therapy 2.0.
Why is it not Retail Therapy 2.0 anymore? Because the features I have added just blow Retail Therapy out of the water. However, I have been struggling coming up with a punny name for this one so if any of you have any ideas let me know!
The mod is 100% base game compatible and doesn't use any of the GTW retail system. This means it will work on any lot - even your sim's home. It now also works with *any* item that has slots on it, so you no longer will need to use my shelving. I thought this was perfect especially for creating little farmers markets and things like that :)
I incorporated most of the feedback you all gave me in my last update post, but there are still a few features I need to add in such as choosing how long to open the store, letting family members help, etc. Basically I have the core part of the mod done, now its just adding in all the final details and touches to make this what might be my best work yet.
I am thinking I can wrap this up in the next weekish so you can have this in your hands first week of November!

I was JUST complaining to my husband about a gorgeous bakery build I found with a cute apartment on top. I was lamenting that I can't have the Sim live on the lot and own/run the bakery AND have my other households visit/buy from it. This is so perfect for what I wanted to do on that lot. Quick question - will we be able to sell baked goods that the customer can actually eat? For example, if my baker bakes a bunch of cupcakes, places it on the counter with your sign, will a customer be able to buy the cupcakes and eat them? Thank you for this and all the other great stuff you produce!

This is sooooo good!!! But i also hope that there is more design to the set sale sign caz I'm a historical simmer, it would be lit if we had a vintage design or one that is invisible in live mode~

Wow.. just wow. Truly amazing what you have done here! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into this((and all your mods)) for the rest of us to use. I am so excited to actually be able to use this, already have several ideas bouncing around! As far as names go what about something to do with the fact that it can be used in a home? Like "Suite Deals" or "Suite Deal Furnishings" or "Isn't this Suite" . Where suite stands in for sweet, since suite means a set of rooms designated for a family's use or a particular purpose. Idk.. that's the best I was able to come up with.

I'm not the best at puns, but how about something like "Good Buy, Buy, Buy" like in the song Bye Bye Bye? or "Good Buy, Sweetheart"? again like the song again with the other kind of bye. Or "This Is My Store-y, In Great Retail"? ... Some thoughts on possible names.... anyway sweets, I adore your work. ^_^

not the npcs. it just kinda does nothing. although i could put it in their inventory. however if ur sim buys something, then it will go to their inventory

unfortunately that is correct at the moment. im working on a way to be able to set paintings, couches, etc for sale. so that method could also work with items placed using alt... its just more manual and have to do it one by one. but at least u only have to do it once!

This is so amazing! I'm so looking forward to this using this mod. One question, does that mean if we use Alt placement to place an item on the surface, that item can't be sold because it's not actually slotted on the surface?

Is there a way to sell brooms on walls? I want to sell items won through artifact duals. :) Would also be appropriate for paintings and other things on the walls.

Sounds awesome!! Id like to add a bookstore and sell all the books my Sims had written. All my bookworms can go buy these special books for generations, they are great gifts too. No book will be lost anymore, I love it! Cant wait to test it :D

ohh do you speak catalan? i was translating it with spanish and it was coming out weird, but when you said regards from spain i thought you may have been from Catalonia. and after translating with catalan the translation made a lot more sense. but i may be totally wrong lol. when i was in grad school getting my masters the post doc i worked with for 3 years was from catalonia which is why i thought of that :)

i translated this and i think i understood most of it lol. google translate isnt always the best. but YES YES YES. those little signs i showed are actually already set up to discount or mark up the items! i dont have that part finished yet so i didnt show it, but the little card in the sign actually changes when u set items for sale/mark up. that way you can tell which items are marked up/down. your sim receives a portion of each sale so when you price items higher or lower, the money you earn will also go up/down.

hola guapa te cuento lo que he echado de menos si incorporas eso para mi es perfecto, eso seria que los letreritos de a la venta hubiera uno para el25% de ganancia el 50 ,100 ,200 y 300 como la opción de ganancia de las mesas de venta seria genial si lo as incorporado no me hagas caso y es que mi ingles fatal me arreglo mas con lo visual pero esto es perfecto porque incluso le da la oportunidad de tener negocio a quien solo tiene el juego base así que me parece incluso una gran obra para aquellos que tienen menos dinero para invertir en el juego para mi eres única y genial y estoy impaciente de poder traducir y utilizar ese mod que podría llamarse perfectamente tiendas RAVASHEEN sin pecar de egocentrismo porque es genial
