The rewrites and slightly expanded segments of volume 1 are finished, so I just have to write some Amazon exclusive short segments and commission some artwork and then it's off to Amazon. As I have no idea how long it takes to commission art, this "We'll be home by Christmas"-like comment and attendant "Mission Accomplished" banner are probably going to bite me in the ass. As I promised way back when, I'll make the exclusives available here for 48 hours, then deleting it so any future subscribers have to buy the book.
As for the exclusives, it's a bit harder than I thought to write some, since I'm a long way from my volume one mind set. So far, I'm considering writing another young Lori segment (to give more context for WHY IS SHE LIKE THIS?!?!?!) and a segment about Skykeep Demesne. Although now that I think of it, I might juts make them all young Lori segments to keep things consistent and more WHY IS SHE LIKE THIS.
In another news, I'm chugging along with my Demesne-hiatus novel. It's looking like the haunted houseflippers one, so I'm putting together a cast list, doing some trimming so everyone isn't a token ethnic type like something out of a CW show, and thinking VERY deeply on the 'will there be fairies?' question. Also reconsidering what types of magic are available in the setting. The vibe I'm going for is 'RWBY-modern', that is a modern-dayish (20 minutes into the future at best) tech level in a non-earth setting, as opposed to Demesne's 'medieval to turn of the 1900's' tech-level. Most because one of the plot ideas is that one of the ghosts is created from a basically a Vtuber who died of self-neglect and madly-maintained equipment. Plus I get to research modern house-building and renovation techniques instead of medieval ones.

Not that kind of reason. Normalcy didn't gun down her parents while they were going home from the theater when she was eight or anything like that. More like I'm thinking of how she formed some of her strongly held opinions.

There‘s a reason why Lori is as she is? I always assumed she‘s at the high-functioning end of some neurodivergence (e.g., autism but I am absolutely unqualified to diagnose those things) and that’s just how she was born. But now you made it sound as if something happened to young Lori to make her behave the way she does. Was I mistaken?
