The lack of support for a woman in high school... HIGH SCHOOL. with a condition is distressing. Just commenting, I know it is a conflict for moving story forward.

She is not exactly an Aunt. She was sponsored at the time by a benefactor woman who allowed Gaby to choose to live alone outside the orphanage (she is also an orphan like other girls born mutants). I will explain it in a few more pages.

Didn't Gaby originally have an aunt in town?

I can def relate to Gabby immediately picturing the worst case scenarios when it comes to talking to the people she's closest to. It took me a long time to realize that those scenarios my brain automatically jumps to are lies, it never actually goes as badly as that, and people who love you will always be more understanding than you give them credit for.
