The 2020âs will be the decade for fourth wave ska
Emma Dobson
Ministry âthe land of rape and honeyâ is the best industrial album from the 80s
Louie Gross
Jefre Cantu-Ledesma deserves a place in the 2010's pantheon of electronic music as much as OPN or Tim Hecker does
Sebastian Bravo
We got it from here... Thank You 4 Your Service is a top 5 hip hop album of the decade

Tom waits career continually got better until he peaked in 2002 with the release of Blood Money and Alice on the same day.

But NXT Takeovers are in bigger arenas than AEW ppvâs

69 Love Songs is statistically the best studio album ever made if you consider the amount of tracks and the hit-to-miss ratio.
Benjamin Lisboa
Cal Chuchesta would make an awesome roommate, he makes dope rhymes and also loves Peppa the Pig

When listening to a classic album like Pet Sounds for the first time, would you recommend mono or stereo? Any reason why?
haughty garbage
Weatherday recorded come in on a headphone mic. When are we gonna see a band record their album by playing it for a friend who they describes it to crowds and studios (aka ultra low fi recording)?
Señor C
Whatâs your take on some of the bigger Spanish rock bands? Groups like Soda Stereo and Cafe Tacvba

The words âbestâ and âfavoriteâ are similar but mean different things and are often used interchangeably. âFavoriteâ is subjective, based on personal enjoyment of a project despite its flaws. While âbestâ is objective, and is the project that achieves the most when looked at from a critical lense. Therefore, someoneâs âfavorite â album from a artist doesnât have to be their âbestâ album
Jake LaMotta
Though DJ Premier killed it, Guru was boring and pretty lifeless a lot of the time on the first few Gang Starr albums (Step in the Arena & Daily Operation) and it is what held them back from being great for me. That part of his delivery was fixed in a big way on Hard to Earn and Moment of Truth though.
beammeupjosi
It's amazing how Loveless and Nevermind came out the same year, topped their respective charts, established their respective genres, are both indebted to Sonic Youth and changed music forever, yet couldn't sound more different. It's a testament to the variety in the world of indie/alternative.
is there a musician equivalent to method acting?
Brendan
I mean, both the VU and the Beatles had very unique ways of approaching music, and to insinuate that one had more influence than the other is kind of ridiculous, especially when they have two very different approaches, styles, writing, popularity, etc. They arent comparable. If anything the beatles had more influence on the sole aspect that they were more well known. Influence has always been a stupid way to judge a band anyways, it has no real weight imo.
Marshall Hanson
Even though he's my favorite of the candidates, I think he's too polarizing. Biden is the only candidate moderate enough to win over the fencesitters.
Marshall Hanson
You should start a political conversation show on the fantano channel. You are well informed and opinionated enough that your political content is interesting, and I think a substantial number of your fans would like to hear discussions with both liberals and conservatives.
Seinfeld
Imagine Dragons was a better band before they found their sound. Many tracks on their early EP's are almost enjoyable.
Chris Hickson
Best music related movie?
Rex Orange County is one of the best figures in the bedroom pop scene right now
Not sure how to express this properly, but it's hard to see a lot of the guitar community bemoaning the death of the electric guitar in popular music at the same time as a lot of the community seems to ignore guys/gals like Steve Lacy, Yvette Young, and Jose Rios (of The Free Nationals).
Daniel of the Rosemary Lodge
Phil Elverum is better than Jeff Mangum

What are your thoughts on the American Psycho and Famous Monsters era and albums? I noticed you didn't mention any songs from that time in your Best Misfits Tracks video, and I haven't seen you talk about the albums before (could just be because I haven't dug far enough but still).
Brendan James
WWE's NXT is a better wrestling product than All Elite Wrestling because it does a better job trying to recreate the intimacy of indie wrestling through smaller crowd sizes.
Max Propadalo
Sky Blue Sky is the second best Wilco album after YHF. It manages to bring Cline's amazing guitar work and a melancholic and even fatalistic atmosphere together and make it all work so well. It's fun and it is sad at the same time, just like life. Songs like "Impossible Germany", "Sky Blue Sky" and "On and On and On" are some of their best songs.
Uncle Jam
Tetris is a better game than Smash Bros. Nothing in gaming is as satisfying as getting yourself out of a jam in Tetris or as relaxing as kicking back and clearing some lines. (Smash is great though.)
raaket
Vegan food tastes better when it's trying not to be like meat
Chris Hickson
The only rock scenes that currently matter are the blossoming post punk bands from UK and Ireland (idles, Fontaines DC, The murder capital) and the already firmly dominating psychedelic wave in Australia
Would you ever do a retro review of Alex Cameron's first album in light of how great Forced Witness and Miami Memory were?
Zachary F Parker
Pop artists making spooky/Halloween-friendly music is the only trend from the mid-80s that needs to come back.
mmm food>madvillany
Chris Hickson
Sound of Silver and This is Happening get the most praise in the LCD discog but the best album is definitely the self-titled. The punk in dance-punk was emphasized way more and the grittiness that went away on their following albums to an extent gives the album such character
MC Emerson
Cheap Trickâs early albumsâ influence on alternative rock gets unfairly overlooked because theyâre known as the âAt Budokanâ band. Their noisy yet melodic 1977 self-titled debut is essentially a Husker Du album before Husker Du was even a thing.
egg56
3 feet high and rising is the only album improved by skits.
Chris Hickson
The first Happy Mondays record should definitely be in consideration for a retrospective 10/10
Robin Gross
Folie a Deux is to Fall Out Boy what Trench is to Twenty One Pilots
Benjamin Williams
Caramelldansen is a legitimately great song
Pictures of Starving Children by Chumbawamba is the greatest punk album of all time. Itâs highly political lyrics and sense of humour are up there with Dead Kennedysâ, and the very pop-sounding but still unique new wave instrumentals create a great satirical contrast that only heightens the visceral anti-capitalist messages of the songs in a way that no other album has done.
MAGMA might be one of the most important bands of the early 70s for prog but due to their confusing discography, inability to do interviews in English and a lot of other misconceptions, they are seriously overlooked by music nerd circles. (misconceptions include: the mystification of zeuhl, the fact that they are rooted in jazz and not rock, crazy theories about their invented language and lore etc...)
Kevin Marcellus Horan
Does anyone actually think this about Yoko Ono anymore?
Kevin Marcellus Horan
The Cold War was a necessary pre-condition for all of the great and hugely influential bands to come out of Germany in the 60s-80s (eg Can, Neu, Faust, Tangerine Dream, EinstĂŒrzende Neubauten). Even Kraftwerk's music was a utopian reaction, envisioning an idealized, harmonious Europe of the future. All music out of Germany since the fall of the Berlin Wall has been irrelevant to bad. That said, congratulations Germany on 30 years of wall-free living!

GOD. is one of the best songs on DAMN.
Having J. Cole on the new Gang Starr track was, while in no way âoffensiveâ, just completely pointless even if he did good. Shouldâve been the remix.
Tjenixen
You should do a track review of the hidden track on the Igor vinyl
Danny Carey is the most talented, and innovative drummer in metal, ever. The way he uses polyrhythms, sampled drum sounds, all combined with power and a great feel for the music is unrivaled in past and modern metal music.
Bad Romance is the best pop song of the last decade.
Omar AlHashmi
We will probably never have another Zappa. Not just in terms of technical aspect but the versatility when it comes to the discography. He had albums of such varying genres and styles that I cant see any band coming close. The only one somewhat similar is maybe King Gizzard but that is still a longs way to go
Adam mezzarone
Nicko McBrain knows how to play 2 drum rythyms
Everything is experimental
Semo Adms
If you really think Steely Dan is music for old white people then you haven't actually dug into their catalog. I don't understand how one could hold that opinion after listening to Aja front to back.
Cooper
More artist should have Vinyl or Cd exclusive covers, this gives more of a reason to buy the physical copy and makes it more special to own it.
How do you decide whether to give an album a strong 7 o a light 8? I mean, seams like such a thin line that can change the exposure you give to an album (if you give it an 8 it will be in your loved list)
Sebastian Bravo
This isnât âletâs agreeâ lol
I'm wasting my money
Britain had the best ska movement
Bernie gonna freaking DO this! (Nomination, presidency, etc.)

IGOR deserves the upcoming grammy for best rap album. There hasn't been any stellar projects this year for the genre that have surpassed IGOR's enjoyablility and experimentation (minus a few that MIGHT come out), and its about time Tyler takes home the award that Flowerboy deserved.
beef
Yeezus was 5 years too early
Cryptopsy's None So Vile is the best death metal album
Brendan James
Lil B's "I'm Gay" (light 0) is a better album than "The Big Day" (decent 0).
Nobody
I recently found old reviews of Daft Punk's Alive 2007 stating that their mixes of the Human After All tracks in their performance had changed their opinion that album. Has a live performance ever changed your opinion on an artist's album or song you initially thought was bad?
Danny Brown is better without a gap between his teeth and serious issues in his life
Smh i dont mean that. Shame on me
Damon Albarn should start doing heroin again
Even though both songs are great on their own. Both of Ednaswap's recordings of Torn are better than Natalie Imbruglia's cover.
Danny Dragovcic
Harsh noise is just EDM for art kids and anti-capitalists
Mitchell Blodgett
People who say you have to take psychedelics to fully understand Dark Side of the Moon have a point. While I don't think drugs are necessary, the ego death caused by them opens up an understanding of where the album is coming from.
Office Policy
Your Hiatus Kaiyote review was your most important review because it taught me that I'm allowed to disagree with you.

Cal is your hidden twin
Andrew Shaktah
Ride would probably be bad at freestyle rap. His style is too reliant on meticulous word choice and his flow doesnât translate well with with the rhythm of most hip hop instrumentals.
Elliott
Anthony Fantano is a credible music reviewer to the extent that they're the only ones that try to sell the audience ridge wallets
Jake Nelms
this is such a bad take I hope he responds
Death Grips are done releasing music.
Breath Of The Wild is a good game, but not nearly as innovative/incredible as the general discourse around it made it seem.
The illusion of Billie Eilish's SNL performance was ruined by the camera shake
My friend says the only reason you didn't review the Jonas Brothers album is because you're scared if you give them a bad review they won't invite you to be Jonas Brother. Thoughts?
Joey
Why was âA Crow Looked at Meâ only a 9 and not a 10?
Harvey Greene
because the internet deserves much more praise, and was only overlooked by an unfair Frank ocean comparison
Harvey Greene
liquid swords is overrated, every song just tried to be as good as 4th chamber but fails.
Aiden Ferry
He needs a Pink Floyd worst to best
Dennis Vilensky
I think an easy solution to this would be to include something like a tag in the title of each video like [Rap] or [metal] or similar. And I'd keep it vague so you don't have to differentiate between black metal and thrash metal or whatever.
Does Anthony Fantano foresee a time in his life when he will retire from being the internet's busiest music nerd?
Aiden Ferry
Pet Sounds cannot be the best album ever because of the poor audio quality on the vocals. Even compared to records made prior (Rubber Soul, Highway 61 Revisited), Brian Wilson sounds drowned out and takes away from the fantastic and innovative production. It cannot be the GOAT album which such a large flaw in the lsitening experience.
Dennis Vilensky
More artists need to do tours like Blink-182 with Lil Wayne to expose audiences to different artists and styles. I'm sure most of the blink fans originally wrote Wayne off before hearing how diverse and deep his talents/discography actually is/are. Now hopefully there's a few more thousand people in the world that will listen to Wayne and might even dive deeper into the world of rap than they ever have before.

SUGAR is the best track off of GINGER
Hobo Johnson and MC Ride are probably brothers. I mean think about it they're both from Sacramento.
Dennis Vilensky
Travis Barker's drumming talents are wasted on a band as boring ass blink-182
Brian Thacker
Ab soul is a better rapper than kendrick lamar.
Snowdream
Vaporwave (and similar subgenres e.g. Future Funk, Vaportrap, etc.) perfectly encapsulate the 2010s as a post-ironic yearning for the past in today's internet age. All hail the vapor.
Minyoung Kim
King Crimson has a much larger impact on music than Pink Floyd, in the same way VU has more influence than the Beatles in that it changed musicians' perspectives in approaching music. Such influences include recording techniques i.e. Frippertronics.
Robojim
Piggy backing on another question: - Why do we often see foreign music classified differently when it's often just folk, rock, pop, etc in a different language?
Kevin Frey
How do you REALLY feel about your fan base? Does it bother you to put so much effort and time into your reviews and content, only for the most liked comments being people asking you to release their family or for a Pink Floyd worst to best?
Riley Schmedeman
Vampire Weekend is nothing without Rostam (note: they replaced him with 3 people)
tryhard
Sunset Rubdownâs Dragonslayer is a perfect album. Wolf Paradeâs Apologies to the Queen Mary is a perfect album. Overall, everything Spencer Krug touched during the 2000âs turned to gold and he deserves to be recognized as the indie rock god that he is.

why is it freezing here all of a sudden
Chandler Anderson
The future of music: Artifical intelligence DJs playing procedurally-generated bangers.
Louie Gross
Mista Thug Isolation deserves to be taken seriously as much as any Danny Brown album. It's every bit as much of an experiment in rap extrimity-as-portrait of mental illness as Atrocity Exhibition or XXX, and it's beats were as cutting edge and dark when it first came out.
Owen W
How did you pick between Kids See Ghosts and You Won't Get What You Want for album of the year, given that they were both 10s?
Brendan
The kinks were one the few bands to come out with a good rock opera with their album, Soap Opera, and they did it the best. Tommy is too overblown, with many nonsensical plotpoints that distract from the main story. The wall also has too much going on, and fails to leave a narrative impact even though the musicianship is tight throughout. The kinks nailed it by basically doing a bigger character sketch, something that they had mastered at that point.
Whats your thoughts on occasionally changing some lyrics to fit your own gender/sexual orientation for the sake of relatablelity
What has stopped the US from embracing some of the higher tempo electronic genres in the mainstream (or at least in the popular underground)? Given how high-energy a lot of rap has been previously, it would be such a breath of fresh air for someone like Danny Brown or Killer Mike to jump on a US produced drum and bass or bassline track.
Jackson Stein
Plowing Into the Field of Love is the best post-punk album of the decade.
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is just bad
Sebastian Bravo
Rate yourself out of 10
denzel curry is in the top 5 rappers of our generation
Jake Nelms
Hobo Johnson is just Touché Amoré for simps
Sebastian Bravo
I agree, the only consistent stretches as good as Kendrickâs are College Dropout through Graduation, Slim Shady LP though the Eminem Show, and a Tribe Called Questâs first few albums
Foxx Navarro
Re:prog The Mars Volta easily one of the best prog groups of all time, and the fact that they were mostly non-white and Drew from a variety of musical sources contributed to that fact
Jon Hoskins
Cabaret Voltaire's Red Mecca is the most important and influential, if not best, industrial album of all time. Acts like Ministry, Godflesh, Nine Inch Nails, and KMFDM wouldn't be anywhere close to what they are now without that album
ElephantofDoom
The hate for Yoko Ono not because of anything she has done, but rather is due to people not wanting to admit that John Lennon was kind of an asshole. Instead of admitting that Lennon's drug abuse, mistreatment of his first wife and son and decision to leave the Beatles were all things he did out of his own free will, his fans instead have turned Ono into a sorceress that bewitched him and made him do those things.
Kameron Martinez
can u say bruh in one of your reviews
Why is it that whenever a new genre enters the mainstream the generation prior rejects the change in sound instead of embracing it? (Ex. The satanic panic craze during the 80s-90s with rock music, Ben Shapiro and other boomers dismissal of Hip-Hop/Rap, etc.)
kitfistofangirl
The Pod by Ween is one of the most interesting and best albums of that era of experimental rock.
Jacob Raymond
There is never a good reason for a song to have more than one featured DJ.
birensmok
Loveless is just wierdly mixed alt rock
Lil B created a lot of trends in the current rap field and is one of the most influential rappers alive, while a lot of people only see him as a meme
Bob Dylan wishes he were as good a lyricist as Conor Oberst
When are we going to get to meet Austin?
The Smile Sessions is better than Pet Sounds
Do you ever worry that your new subscribers with get content whiplash? You can jump from underground hip-hop to mainstream pop to semi-popular metal all within a few days. Not saying this is a bad thing, just curious
Cars 2 sucks but the soundtrack is great
Foalsâ full albums may be flawed, but over all they are far more ambitious and interesting than your typical alt-nation indie rock bands. They deserve to be remembered as one of the best Alt Rock groups of the decade.
Zach S
In terms of consistency Kendrick should at the very least be in discussion for rap goat, going from sec 80 to gkmc to tpab to damn and considering that even the worst out of those is better than some established rappers best album says a lot, really the only runs you can compare it to are like the first Kanye albums
Would you consider doing meme review and thatistheplan shows in general now that you have a Patreon? Since the main reason you didn't continue was because YouTube was demonetizing the videos.
What is your opinion on The Caretaker? I've noticed you haven't reviewed him on your channel.

Do you ever look at the patron discord? It's pretty fun in there. You should join us.
BigBabyBerkis
There should be a Spongebob spin-off show were you follow the rough lives of Mr. Krabs and Mrs. Puff, married, with children.
JJ Araim
If youâre in the mood to listen to metal or another genre, does that affect the enjoyment or score of a rap album youâre currently reviewing?
Simon
"Pet Sounds" sounds like Christmas music.
Sebastian Bravo
Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous by Big L is a 10/10 and is one of the most under appreciated rap albums of all time
Living Colour don't get enough recognition for their excellent fusion of rock and funk amongst other genres, and should be respected as the most shining example of why prog isn't just a white genre
Buddy Sweathole
Van Halen is better than Led Zeppelin
