People that make the "Muse is just Radiohead" meme argument don't actually listen that deeply to either artist. In the 90s sure Muse was pretty much ripping off Radiohead's asthetics, but in the 2000s Muse shifted to more of a bombastic progressive and space rock vibe, while Radiohead was more post/experimental/alternative rock.

Sneakily enough, āThe Adventures of Pete and Peteā had the greatest soundtrack to any Nickelodeon show or kids show for that matter. Shoutout to Polaris big time
Benji is the album of the decade. Rarely do you hear album so mature yet so emotionally potent. I couldnāt help but eating up every word he says on the project. It may not be so yet, but I believe the album will go down as the most influential folk album of this decade.
I love you
I'm lukewarm about everything previous to this most recent album. It felt kind of amateur or like novelty records. I mean, if someone is into that, then fine, but it's not for me. I truly don't think they came into their own until "Time n Place"
Absolutely 100% truth
I would agree with you regarding your initial statements 100%. But not so sure about the other 3 albums though.

Wiz Khalifa only raps about weed heās like a one trick pony
Ellie Goulding ruined her career by accepting the hot single love me like you do

Oxygen by Swans is truly the best song ever created to lift weights to

My Teenage Dream Ended by Farrah Abraham is an under appreciated piece of outsider music and predated PC Music, 100 gecs, and Charli XCXās current output by a few years.

Nickelback's first album wasn't terrible.

What are your thoughts on Chris Crack?

It's hard to think of anything contentious to say, music is pretty great right now.

This is really just a pointless argument. Same song done by 2 wildly different bands from very different eras of music. They both have perks that make them better or worse than the other, but at the end of the day, they both succeed in what they set out to do and are both enjoyable. Also saying the original only succeeded because of its music video is stupid, I donāt even think Iāve seen the video but I love the song.

Chic Tweetz is the worst track Josh Homme has ever touched
Joshua Forbes
Heās always been on the left. He just didnāt talk about it as much before that, and he didnāt like the SJW types. And this was also before Sargon revealed himself to be a total 100% tool LOL.

Gang Starrās One of the Best Yet is proof that making good music with a deceased rapper (R.I.P. Guru) is possible, and not just a corporate ploy to squeeze an artistās name/legacy dry, via their stans and mourners with work they may have not intended for release.
Benjamin Lisboa
Arctic Monkeys is good
Authority zero version of "Mexican Radio" is better than the original Wall of Vodoo, which would be nothing without the weird music video.

All My Heroes Are Cornballs > Veteran due to Cornballs being generally more listenable and having better production and themes overall.
Album cover artists don't get enough credit and public recognition as they should
Joey Jojo
A band or artist that only releases 5 and 6/10s is worse to listen to than someone who releases legitimately bad music. At least the bad artist is making you feel something while you listen to it, and it makes you think of why the music is bad, while the mediocre artist is just not giving you anything of notice.
ThickasaBiggles
Phil Collins-era Genesis isnt as bad as some would lead you to believe. ABSOLUTELY not as good as the Peter Gabriel-era but A Trick of the Tail and Wind & Wuthering are among the bands best and Duke, Abacab, and Invisible Touch are solid to even great albums.
Clipping release the best concept albums of any hip-hop artist ever
Tim Arendt
Tony Martin was the best singer Black Sabbath ever had.
M83ās āDead Cities, Read Seas & Lost Ghostsā is wildly slept on and is their best record to date. Itās also one of the most unique shoegaze records ever created. Their ability to create songs that feel so incredibly gargantuan is unmatched across the rest of their discography.
Riley Schmedeman
Have a Nice Lifeās āDeathconsciousnessā is easily one of the best rock albums of the 2000s. No band/artist had a sound quite like them, and the record is easily one of the most creative rock albums ever. The album is also extremely consistent for having so many influences

MySpace revival bands are boring af in the current year and need to drive the genre forward with new creative and compelling ideas instead of playing the same panic chord breakdowns from 2005
In your best albums of 2016 video, you said that you might discuss a "weird theory" you have about David Bowie's Blackstar. Now is the time to do so.

The world has turned and left me here is the one of the most underrated weezer song. Amazing hook, bridge, and lyrics in general.

I listen to Dissect just to laugh at a white person matter-of-factly reciting hip-hop lyrics.
Dylan Muschitiello
Music is the best form of art because its great by itself and also enhances most other forms (movies, tv, games etc.)

Nothing. You're great just the way you are.
Ras Kass is one of the most underrated MC's of all time and should be more widely recognized as a top lyricist from the West coast
David S. Grop
Lana Del Rey is just Billie Eilish for moms of Billie Eilish fans.

The last song on an album shouldnāt be released as a single. The last song is the climax of the whole album and should be a surprise going into it.
Aiden Ferry
Kero Kero Bonito is the single most consistently great artist for a band that started this decade. Changing up their sound just adds to difficulty of what they're doing, and from their first EP they've had an original sound.
The White Album is better than Pinkerton
Aiden Ferry
It's honestly just a meme at this point

Aerosmith wasn't nearly as heavy. Maybe a knockoff of "Living Loving (She's Just a Woman)" Led Zeppelin

Composer John Williams has created the most well-known music of all time! More people would recognize Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc. than Beethoven's symphonies. Eat your heart out, Mozart.

Coming from a religious background, I felt that Jesus is King was an acceptable āChristianā album. Many people from my church disregard hip hop as the ādevils musicā. However, Jesus is King is convincing those people that hip hop isnāt so devilish and is helping them accept hip hop as an art form.

Groups should have their review score divided by the number of members in order to be compared to solo artists. 4 minds coming together to make an 8/10 album isn't as impressive as 1 mind making a 5/10 album on their own
ElephantofDoom
Modest Mouse secretly broke up in 2004 and every project since then have actually been by Ugly Casanova.
Richard Horan
Itās as impressive to getting the number 1 Song of The Year from you as getting a 9 on an album that year- like when you gave Gambino Song of The Year with This is America last year
IDM is a vastly underappreciated genre in the current saturated music scene, so when a great album comes out (cough Floating Points which you should definitely review cough) unfairly little attention is payed to it
W.W.C.O.H.W.W.G by the Unicorns is the pinnacle of 2000ās indie rock, if not 2000ās music in general.

Ab-soul is a way better rapper than kendrick lamar.

You should review more Non-English music. While you do listen to some of the big releases from different countries, I feel like you are still missing out on a lot of the hidden gems from abroad.
We live in a society where women are encouraged to be proud of their vaginas, while I am left alone with those ugly-ass balls, standing next to a mirror, naked, and with a razor-sharp blade next to my testicles.
Paranoid by Black Sabbath (album), is better than anything Iron Maiden ever made.
Jaden will never have a music career as successful as his father's.
denzel curry is in the top 5 rappers of the 2010s, he has no bad records, most rappers would kill to have a record like Taboo or imperial
TPAB is undoubtedly one of the greatest (if not the greatest) hip-hop albums of the decade, but it had little to no effect on the hip-hop landscape at large. It wasnāt a definitive watershed moment for rap music like Rodeo was for trap, for example.

Beyond meat isnāt even made of soy

Ice Nine Kills', or INK for short, latest album is a great way of taking a semi-niche specific fandom (horror, thriller, slasher flicks) & turning it into what I'd say is a universally enjoyable album. Of course not everyone will like the music per-say considering the genre they play, but it can be appreciated by a lot of people for what they did & how well it came out.

Aerosmith is just a knockoff Led Zeppelin

Red is better than In the Court of the Crimson King

The All That theme song by TLC is the greatest TV show theme song of all time.

poppys new music > old music, iām talking like some of aiag-present. itās so much better and i literally canāt believe some people think her pop music was better and want it back

This is oddly accurate
Combat Rock is better than London Calling. Its satire and stories are more interesting, and it has drearier sonics whilst still packing anthems like Rock The Casbah or Should I Stay Or Should I Go.

The new "Beyond Meat" trend that mainstream restaurants are taking action to is just them using a soy based patty which tastes like pure dirt for an extra 3 dollars. Eating a real burger (for the sake of ethics or not) is wayyy better then anything "beyond meat" out there.

Finally someone who agrees with me. Itās my least favorite album just because itās their least unique and I have no reason to return to it.
Harvey Greene
why is there only a let's argue overrated albums? There should be an underrated albums series, kinda like let's agree.
Did the fader article and criticism about your sjw videos and hangouts with Sargon put into motion a moment of self-reflection that caused you to start analyzing your personal politics? What started drawing you to the left?

Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 are just as quintessential as Charli to Charli XCX's discography

Hawaiian music is an underappreciated genre of world music that deserves more recognition. Artist like Gabby Pahinui and the Beamer Brothers elevated the art of slack key guitar while voices like Israel Kamakawiwoʻole resonated into the hearts of millions of people even though they might not know who he is outside of that "big Hawaiian guy who covered Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
Skinny jean pockets make my phone/wallet bulge out like weird battery packs. SLIM fit is where it's at.

There is no appeal in Gunnaās music, you can get what he does way better from so many other artists.
Robert Furey
Lyrical or conscious rappers too often get a pass for rapping about something seemingly important rather than rapping about something in depth or with any real/new insight. A good example of this is Nas's I Gave You Power, which is disappointingly literal and doesn't really have any depth beyond "guns kill people". This is really worrying when what rappers are saying is actively harmful or "problematic" such as the many anti-vax rappers or J. Cole's whole career which has been built on shitting on others (notably other black artists and women) and stealing from his influences like Nas. In the case of Cole in particular, I think it's especially easy to not question what he's saying because of how much self-mythologising he does and his authoritative voice.
Dr. Octagonecologyst is one of the most underrated hip-hop albums. Creative production, great rapping, unorthodox lyricism, and amazing scratch DJing from DJ QBert to top it all off.
Paul Prete
Billie Eilishās brother is so in love with her that he is dating an older version of her
Kanye West uses the same publicity tactics as the Kardashian clan to stay relevent.

BOOGIE by Brockhampton is a great song, but it always sounds like it's gonna be a T-Mobile commercial when it first comes on
Louie Gross
Guerrilla Toss is post punk by Mrs. Frizzle
Adam mezzarone
Bottomless Pit is extremely overrated as far as death grips albums go. A lot of people laud it as being a return to a "Money Store" sound when the hooks are way less catchy than the Money Store, the production is a lot less interesting, and ride's delivery on the album leaves a lot to be desired
William Basinski is easily the most overrated ambient artist of all time. Very simplistic tape loops with little meaning are receiving critical acclaim just because he had "muh 9/11" on his album covers. There are so many better tape-loop ambient artists that do what he does so much better, Ekkehard Ehlers, Windy & Carl, Aix Em Klemm. Dude is an ego-driven asshole who doesn't deserve the praise.
Jon Hoskins
Feet of Clay was the worst Earl project yet. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it's the shortest and most out-there album to the point that it isn't as fulfilling as others to come back to (like SRS, IDLSIDGO)
Brendan
Everything they do is underrated or overlooked. When I look online I either see that their albums are only given mediocre ratings, or there are just very few people that actually really bother with their discography. I understand to a certain extent, they are weird, but they got bangers.

The best version of Love Stinks by J. Geils Band was Get Over It by OK Go
Brendan
The Rolling Stones are very overrated. They arenāt necessarily bad, I enjoy quite a few of their songs, but to often be labeled as the second best band of the sixties is outrageous. Sure when they stuck to what they knew they could make a handful of decent r&b tracks per album, but thatās it. The pretty things did them better every time anyways, making much smoother transitions into psychedelia and the 70s more heavy sounds, better than The Rolling Stones ever could.
birensmok
not really a Let's Argue thing, but I'd love to hear if you own any records that you hate.

Modern Orchestral music still being stuck in the old era of patronage to wealthy elites is awful considering how long its been stuck there (read most of its existence) and has diluted creativity.

Please melon, we got a MCR and a RATM revival. When are we getting a thatistheplan revival??

An album or artist being influential doesn't necessarily make them good. Artists/art can be a bad influence on the medium as much as a good one. So pointing out that an artist is influential is not a defense against someone calling them bad.
Wish You Were Here and Animals are at least twice as good as The Dark Side of the Moon
Battle of the excessively large bands: Which group wins in a fight to the death between Slipknot and Wu-Tang Clan?
Now that you're on Patreon, would you consider making content for thatistheplan such as meme review and Mr list stuff? You mentioned before that YouTube demonitizing the channel was the reason for it to be closed, but now you could have the option to make money out of that content.

They may be campy as hell, but youād be lying to yourself if you said that bands like Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly arenāt fun to listen to from time to time
Reverie Foster
Queen's "A Night At The Opera" is completely overrated. Sure it has classics like You're My Best Friends and of course, Bohemian Rhapsody, but outside of them most tracks do not stand out. The concept is cool in theory but most of the album sounds like the band is goofing off rather than trying to be serious, and that can be endearing but it doesn't necessarily make it good. Queen has much better records imo
Brendan James
The vaporwave scene doesn't give enough credit to artists like Boards of Canada, who basically birthed the whole idea of composing music around the idea of nostalgia via incidental music in an analog format. Macintosh 420, while a landmark album, wasn't the start of this particular universe.
haughty garbage
All streaming services have awful interface customization options. I can't increase the size of album art, make my own meta tags/easily searchable libraries, or even change the color of the interface. Just one of these options or something similar would make music on my phone 100x more enjoyable.
HMN
The Dead Kennedys donāt get enough praise. Holiday in Cambodia gets a lot of play but otherwise the cleverness of Jelloās lyrics and the virtuosity of musicianship on albums like Frankenchrist get overlooked when it comes to highlighting US punk icons

J. Cole is one of the most overrated rappers of all time. Dude has not put out a truly great project since his early mixtape days

The version of Wolves that was originally released on TLOP is better. The mix may be rough but the Sia feature on the updated version is awful and having Frank on the end of the old version made it feel like his feature is more of a hidden gem.
